he does the basics fine when in possession, the problem is it seems to be all he ever does. pointless backwards and sideways short passes galore, like he's trying to set some kind of sideways passing record.

Hasn't found any form all season after getting injured before it started. Hopefully he can find some in the 2nd half of the season but not holding out much hope the way he is playing.

Gonna be Rodwell mk2 if he's not careful. All the technique in the world but doesn't show the aggression, desire, determination etc required to make it big in the premier league right now. Has the air of an overseas signing who has torn up the Portuguese league but hasn't adjusted to the English game. Doesn't really deserve a starting place currently.

He just isn't good enough to play the role he's being asked to right now.

Put him in the centre mid spot and drop one of the holding players. He gets to play the simple passes and burst from deep without the pressure of feeling he has to create something every time he has the ball.

Barkley is man destroy by Martinez . He can be this bad on hes own , but those playing on winger then CM then ATM , hes lost. He and Naismith , would love to see number of wrong pass.
