Agree but if we didn't pay it him I'm sure there are plenty of teams willing to pay him that and more. I'm sure when we had Rooney he agreed a deal for around 12k when he was still 16 to start from his 17th birthday. What was that 10 years ago now

there should be rules against paying minors upfront,at least part of the money for young footballers should be required to go into funds where they can't touch it until the end of their careers.

I know the first thing he bought was a house for his mum if it matters. And that he demanded his Range Rover had blue seats and not the standard red too. I think he's all right myself, when a lad is so hyped up and on 20k a week I can't imagine what that would do.

Ross just needs to keep his eyes open when he drives down Smithdown and Lodge lane, he's a vulnerable target at this stage. Once he starts playing, which isn't far away, he'll move to formby and his life will change.

At Ross's age it definitely should be about the game not money. I hope he keeps his head screwed on and works hard and become the player he can be without fans putting too much pressure on him to be messi mk2

What choice does the club have?
Barkley is a player coveted by plenty of other premiership clubs who would gladly pay him 20k per week and probably a lot more.
Everton were forced to pay the player or lose him...simple choice.

And you know if Everton put their foot down and said they weren't willing to pay that kind of money, the knives would be out and the talk would be of how skint we are we can't even keep old of promising kids.

I think us getting better players around him, compared to last season, means he shouldn't be under too much pressure if he breaks through. As things stand I'd be looking to other players to make a difference before him.

I wouldn't be too arsed if he stayed at Sheff Wed til Xmas or beyond as long as we're doing well TBH.
