Ross Barkley

Think Ross is smart enough to realize that a big move this summer would entirely screw up his development, just hope we're smart enough to immediately turn down any offers for him.

Like others, I get the impression Barkley is not pushing for a move but perhaps talks have taken place. Time will tell.[/QUOTE]
I have been critical of his apparent lack of awareness of others but thought that today he showed much more subtle touches and passes that kept us moving forward or involved team mates better. Partly agree with posters that say Lukaku probably gets frustrated when he overruns the ball rather than play him in but I saw signs today that made me much more optimistic that his dip in form is just that, not a sign of a fundamental weakness. A bit of vocal support at home at last for a young homegrown talent probably went down well to to be fair.

edit not sure why the above looks like I've posted but here's my reply ;)

He got good support from the players as well when he went off. I think he's got a good group of lads around him who basically protect him and understand when he makes mistakes but aren't too harsh on him.

He is, imo, still a very young lad at heart and in his head. He lacks Rooney's cock of the walk swagger that he had when he was really young which set him apart in those early years. Still looks around a lot to other players for reassurance especially when he makes an error. Cracking player in the making I think. Patience lads.......
Btw my posts and yours Macavennie are getting assigned to the other person!!!! How did that happen?

We could create a multi called AllezMaccavennie!!! Enough of this haha. Great win today lads, well done Ross and co.

what do you lads think of Barkley's performance yesterday?
This entire season i was hoping to see him run with the ball, draw opponents towards him and he to make the killer pass to his team mates.
There were plenty of such opportunities yesterday but he is either unaware of his team mates positioning or he loves to take audacious long shots.

I honestly thought he was dreadful for most of the match.

He did some nice runs and went past players, but each time it resulted in nothing. I'm incredibly harsh on Barkley, because i honestly just don't see the hype as a future legend. Yesterday Rom was screaming at him nonstop to put him through. Everytime Ross run into trouble and messed it up, Lukaku was in space or making a run time and time again.

He's actually stopping Lukaku's progression in my eyes. I hope that Barkley proves me wrong, i'd enjoy nothing more...but i just don't see it.
