Im sorry, but the fact that not ONE player looks better than last year is a damning indictment of Martinez. The kid has literally the world at his feet and yet looks scared to do anything. Ive literally no idea what could help him out. Is it expectations? Defensive burdens? Not being played as anything consistently?

Problem is who we loan him to, he could look at a lower club as a backwards step in his career.
Could have it anything to do with the crowd getting on his case when something he tries doesn't come off?
Honestly, i dont think so. The crowd is moderately patient. If you can see what is being TRIED and failed, then sure, you can accept. Thing is too tho, that it needs to come off.
And honestly, if it IS the crowd making nervous, isnt that kind of a sign maybe he might have issues with handling criticism? Thats not exactly great.

Yeah for a flair player I agree, if the crowd gets to him then that could be a problem, he should take a leaf out of Mirallas' book, he goes for goal no matter what, and if it doesn't come off he doesn't give a toss.

Yes and it was also him that has persisted to keep him the team at all costs. He's got an agenda, he knows he will be making mistakes at his age, but with enough experience he can smooth them out of his game. This season is all about getting experience. Remember Gerrard at 21?
Why not put a player in a position to succeed instead of playing everyone out of position? In no way/shape/form is Barkley a better player this season than at any point last year. How is this something that should be celebrated?
