He's been playing deep for long spells in recent matches, both McCarthy and osman were often further ahead of him.

He seems to struggle wherever he's played at the moment. No confidence whatsoever.

The Barry McCarthy partnership effects his game as those two are similar Barry being so poor this season, Osman was are only play maker today until the subs we had no outlet - Osman can not last 90 mins as well deserved his well taken goal, for 80 mins we had a very poor midfield once again !
RB cannot cope in that midfield set up I felt sorry for him as the game progressed he got worse!

This is to a great extent what I have felt about the team selections and subs under RM. Too much chopping and changing. We did well against the Manure where Barkley looked better but next game it was changed! that did not help RB. really think Barry should be ditched and sort out McC, Besic, RB.

Every coach seems to have their sacred cows and Barry seems to be Roberto's. I agree though that it would be better to sort out the mids. I would like to see something the inverted pyramid. Besic lying deep and covering both sides and McCarthy and Barkley closer to even up top. Easing on Ross' defensive duties (the biggest issue with p[laying him deeper) and hopefully give more balance to our team with both Ross and James pushing forward.

He'll come back like the boss player we know he can be next season, CMs are hardly the finished article at 21.

Really hope he bags a goal against Spurs.
