Ross Barkley

ok, i know its a little bit optimistic, but i think this lad will be truly world-class. surround him with good players and if we still have a striker in the mould of jelavic, think he could help us challenge, long way to go yet though (i'm talking about in a few years), didnt mean to put unnecessary pressure, just feeling oddly optimistic with the derby tomorrow!!

It is a pointless comment. Can only perform to the best of your ability against the team you are playing against, in Barkleys case, it was Ipswich Town.

I dont see how that can be said when we've been without a quality CM last week and still may for tomorrow's game...and he had the option to recall him for just such a mini-crisis. It's been the very opposite of a 'great decision' in fact.

Barkley doesn't have the work rate or defensive attentiveness to play 90 minutes in the premier league, certainly not in a match like the derby.

That's been said by pretty much everybody, including Xavi (no not the footballer) who LOVES Barkley.

this lad will lead us to the prem title if moyes will let him (not sell any key players - keep buying well)

van persie had one the greatest solo season ever last season and arsenal never got close to the title with a squad better than ours. Gerrard has been on a one man solo mission for years and got nowhere near the title. it would take ross to do something of ronaldo at real standard to get us close to challenging the title.

no offence everton, love you lots, rich x

By far the best player on the pitch (declared m.o.m that day ) making his derby debut and at only 18 years old and in this so called amazingly Technical Midfield area of the pitch .. Billy Kenny didnt do to bad did he

just sayin Like

Great second goal. He has a lot of potential. Mounting too much expectation on him wouldn't be too wise especially since he's only 18.
