Ross Barkley

Think he should be given a chance on the right ahead of Naismith. He can take more risks there and any mistakes would be less likely to be punished than if he was in the centre.

He has to start against Cheltenham. With Gibson out for a few weeks we need to rotate as much as possible. It's handy we have a player like him who actually can develop into an international IF managers use him wisely.

Moyes obviously has some sort of problem with the lad....

Im not for this hes not ready lark.

He was introduced two seasons ago. Gave a penalty away and was thrown into the abyss for a further 18 months.

He goes to Sheff Wed on loan is recalled due to injuries plays a good cameo roll against stoke, then thrown on against Chelsea with the whole team bombarding forward. Makes a mistake and is dropped from the squad completely.

The mistake was made worse because the whole team was pushed forward beyond him apart from Distin. Look at Barca/Chelsea semi final at Nou Camp when Torres finished Barca off. Its called counter attack football when the losing side is chaseing the game, yes he gave it away cheaply but he'll never do it again! No-one was showing for him!

Wtf is wrong with Moyes!!!

Ive seen Seamus Coleman make all kinds of costly mistakes (barkleys cost us nothing) and is/was continually given another chance!

Theres obviously a deep lieing problem. If Gueye and an early Coleman can get games i dont see any excuse from anyone why Barkley cant

I think Moyes is just overly cautious.

He avoided playing Coleman at RB for ages, instead playing him further up. He always had defensive qualities and that's why Moyes trusted him, and finally he's trusting him to start in defence.

It's better to be more cautious with him as opposed to throwing him in only for him to make lots of mistakes and ruin his confidence. No that's what I think would happen, I'm just trying to understand Moyes' "logic".

From Moyes

"We have to remember Ross is a young boy and we’re bringing him on. He missed a bit of *football but I will continue to edge him nearer to our first team,â€￾ he explained.

“The boy is going to be a very good player, and I have always thought he will play for England, but we must be wary.â€￾

So there you have it. We have to be "wary".

Starting game tomorrow

I watched Felli and Peanuts give the ball away quite a bit last night, does that mean we shoukd drop those both too? Jags did it a few times too, off with his head??

I don't think the boy gave the ball away during the Chelsea game any more than any of the other players did. Sure he'll get caught out a few times thinking he has more time on the ball than he does, but that will only change with some game time under his belt.

Mate you're still ignoring the fact that it must effect Barkley far more than those other professionals, who are matured, and take mistakes on the cheek.

After the penalty he was dropped because supposedly it'd ruined him.
