Maybe you weren't but the vast majority of the fan base were. Nothing I have seen this season suggests he is any nearer to the first team, if anything he's further away.

Dunno about that. He's had more first team football this year than ever before. Just not with us.

I might be wrong here, but Osman didn't really start playing in the team until a bit later in his years? is that right?

I myself thought he would of featured more this season I have tbh. But it's tricky and I imagine there's a lot more to it than what we see and think should be happening.

Again I imagine a decision was made quite early on this season that he'd go for a spell on loan as apposed to 10-15 mins off the bench for us. With injuries that was cut short and also hitzleberger was brought in to warm the bench and he has to be alowed some time on the pitch.

Who knows what Barkley is like mentally. Is he ready for the pressure that comes with playing for Everton in important games? Moyes certainly thought he needed to go out on loan to get used to playing in pressure situations infront of big crowds, maybe that tells you where the kid is at.

As for vellios and Duffy...there young promising players but there not going to improve our first 11. Think they have been over hyped by fans and our thought of as better players than what they probably are currently.

Barkley is boss on FIFA. Only rated 71 but he has a load of them special skills, he's probably our best player on there. Class bringing him on against fans of other teams who've never heard of him and watching him rinse everyone.

I personally think its a joke that barkley hasnt been given more 1st team opportunities. How can moyes say its a risk playing him because hes young yet its not a risk for him to play the likes of neville, heitinga and naismith who have all been costly this season. I have seen barkley play countless times as he progressed through the academy and he was head and shoulders above everyone else the majority of times. He seems to be the kind of creative spark who could do something out of nothing that we are crying out for. This is were, at this moment of time, i think the red****e are ahead of us in terms of bringing youth through and giving them 1st team opportunites. Rodgers is a firm believer in giving youngsters a chance whereas Moyes doesnt seem to agree and in the long run this could cost us. Once again it all boils down to moyes lacking the bottle.

Neil warnock told moyes he could not play him regular at Leeds ffs, so he was brought back, when he got on at goodison a few weeks back and give the ball away 2 or 3 times the groans around the ground would'nt have done his confidence much good
He should have stayed with Dave jones,at least he was getting some game time in.

So, his confidence has gone not because of never getting any game time over the last year - no, it's because of us fans. FFS.

If his confidence has gone then I blame motes for not believing in him enough. He's only ever gave him bits of games really and whenever hes done a little mistake instead of encouraging him and giving him more game time hes gone missing instead

2 years ago he played against Villareal in a friendly and QPR in the PL. he looked years beyond his age. He hasn't been given a single start this season not even in the League cup. Absolutely ridiculous. I some what agree that when I've seen him come on against Orient and maybe Chelsea he didn't the look the same confident player of 2 years ago. But the games I ssaw of him against stoke, for us, he looked again years beyond his age. He needs games but unfortunately this season is an important one for us and he's never been in Moyes plans from the get go.

He did absolutely nothing of note against Stoke, and I wish you would stop using this BS cliche about him looking 'years beyond his age', because he looks far more like a scared teenager who dithers for too long when he receives the ball.

I want him to succeed, and if you look at my posts regarding Barkley you will see that I have been an advocate of leaving him alone, and allowing him to develop, whilst stating it could be 2 or 3 years before he becomes ready for the Premier League, if he ever becomes ready to play at that level at all.

You would think the fact that Warnock sent him back from Leeds because he couldn't guarantee him first football in the Championship would give you an indication that he really isn't at the standard required to play premier league football with a club like Everton at the moment. He is another Everton player who is benefiting/suffering from being extremely overhyped by Evertonians.

That's called re writing history to suit your argument. Barkley was stopped playing by EFC in cp games, and then brought back for cover. He wasn't sent back because Warnock couldn't guarantee him first treat football.

And it isn't/wasn't just Evertonians who lauded his abilities either.

Of course, it's simply easier for certain people to dismiss Barkley as hyped up by idiot Evertonians rather than criticise his handling by Moyes.

I think hes overhyped and is being handled quite badly by Moyes.

Possibly being played out of postion and is also coming back from a very serious injury.

Its quite comical really.
