Ross Barkley

From what I can remember I've only seen him play a full 90 minutes once and that was this pre season against Tranmere. He was in the centre of midfield with Rodwell and they were both massively overshadowed by Wallace. Barkley looked good on the ball but he rarely got it because never picked up a decent position. And that's why he should be away on loan somewhere. He needs to play competitively so that he can learn how to influence a game without the ball as well as when he has it.

If there's been a mistake made with him, it's that he should have gone out on loan for the full season, but thanks to our paper thin squad Moyes obviously didn't want to commit to that.

As it turns out it's not been a great season for the lad, for one reason or another & it suits the Moyes bashers to blame him 100% for 'mishandling' the new Zidane.

In the case of both Duffy and Barkley I think there have been situations where they could have been cameo runouts in the first team this season. The games against Cheltenham and Oldham spring immediately to mind and last Saturday would have been another example.

It's not a case of making them central to the team it is a case of giving them fifteen minutes in a game that is won ...or lost.Away to Utd, the game was gone from us for a long time at least giving one of the youngsters the last twenty minutes would have achieved something in that game,if only giving a senior player a rest.
If Duffy or Barkley had ten or twelve runouts with the team I think it would have helped their progress.

If our squad was so paper thin these players would have had gametime. It's not really the size of the squad that is to blame,it's the manager thinking the players are not ready or not trusting them.
I think the defeat at Leeds was inflential in the managers decision making for a lot of this season.

He did absolutely nothing of note against Stoke, and I wish you would stop using this BS cliche about him looking 'years beyond his age', because he looks far more like a scared teenager who dithers for too long when he receives the ball.

I want him to succeed, and if you look at my posts regarding Barkley you will see that I have been an advocate of leaving him alone, and allowing him to develop, whilst stating it could be 2 or 3 years before he becomes ready for the Premier League, if he ever becomes ready to play at that level at all.

You would think the fact that Warnock sent him back from Leeds because he couldn't guarantee him first football in the Championship would give you an indication that he really isn't at the standard required to play premier league football with a club like Everton at the moment. He is another Everton player who is benefiting/suffering from being extremely overhyped by Evertonians.

Absolute tosh, this is the problem with it all, people who didn't see him come through at 17. He absolutely bossed the game against Villareal in pre-season, absolutely bossed it. He then played against QPR? He was that good match of the day took time to show what he did in the game and what a bright future he had. They don't do that for every 17 year old.

Regarding Warnock. Do your homework. Warnock wanted a Right sided midfielder, he brought Ross in to play there, found out he wasn't the winger he was after and decided he needed to free up Ross's position to get another loanee in who was a winger. He was never loaned to play his natural position. Therefor Warnock is a cart . He did however say that there was no doubt that Ross will go on to play for Emgland one day.

He is the best thing come through our academy since Rooney. No doubt, no hesitation saying that. If anything his progress has gone backwards because of all the messing about. Ffs Moyes just give him a few minutes!

Mate fed up of these part time Evertonians who read these forums and watch highlights from sky and seem to have a major footballing opinion on everything blue. I've witnessed it with my own eyes. He's got "it". Something that only comes round once every 10 years. He's shown he is a fantastic prospect. But no, he's over hyped because Moyes knows. BS!! Moyes has mismanaged this lad from the start he should be at least pushing the two central midfielders for a starting position, 2 years after those fantastic performances.

But no he was thrown into the oblivion and we've still managed to pay & play the likes of Hitzlsperger. The same person who came on 10 minutes from the end against Reading. That should have been Ross!!

Im sick of these full time Everton fans who go every game and think they have a major footballing opinion on everything blue.

Ive watched loads of games on Sky, the replays they show are AMAZING.

And im not sure if you aware of this, but Barkley is injured, so he couldnt come on instead of Hitzlsperger, who, for the record, is utterly terrible.

Even if Barkley is injured. Hitzlsperger has always been given the nod before him in the CM role.

When he played 2 years ago he was better than Messi. Then on the way to Blackburn he turned into Vinny Samways and has slowly morphed into Alex Nyarko as he remains to this day.

Can't blame Moyes for not playing him really.

Do you follow football mate? Are you sure you're on the right forum?

Ross has played about 50 mins of football for Everton this season.

Orient - 20mins
Stoke - 20mins
Chelsea - 10mins

How's he meant to prove anything in little cameo appearances like that.
