Ross Barkley

is right. He will be a monster next season! strong lad

To bad he didn't connect on that curler or we would all be in euphoria this morning. Just a taste of things to come. Thick as bricks in the middle it has to be his prefered position going forward. I liked his link up when he gained more confidence in his own ability. Moyes pushed the right button last night for the future.

Barkley showed glimpses of quality, but also demonstrated why I think Moyes has been reluctant to use him.

He made some poor decisions at times & got caught in possession or gave the ball away.

The lad is undoubtedly a talent & needs game time to improve, but I still think he'd benefit from a long term loan move to play every week for a few months.

depends on Moyes intentions I think mate, if he's going to continue like he has against Spurs an Arsenal, he might be better off where he is

I think last night was perfect for Barkley, I've heard a lot of radio comments saying 'Moyes threw him in at the deep end' but its a load of crap. Had he played him against a Wigan or Reading the expectation would have been for him to dominate the ball, but against Arsenal away there were no expectations, but in reality with Ramsey and Arteta in the middle they have ball players not tacklers and its a massive pitch so you are going to get time to show what you can do.

Top marks to both Moyes and Barkley

Not as big as our pitch and I thought Arsenal closed us down very quickly.

he definitely needs game time but it's game time with us, i would start him every game now in that position, he can only get better and on last nights performance he deserves to start on Saturday.

I was very pleased with Barkley last night and he will only get better as he plays more games and gets more experience and confidence.

What,I don't understand is why people have to try to build up Barkley by knocking Osman.Osman has had a wonderful season for us and is a delightful player. He is a different player to Barkley and even physically they are totally different.Next season we will see a lot of Barkley, but it won't be at the expense of Osman, they will play together and compliment each other.

Everybody is entitled to their opinon but I find it hard to understand people who cannot see what Osman brings to our team.

Yup.

Barkley plays 60mins = is boss.
Osman plays all season and we're in contention for Europe = ****e.

Me arse went when he hit that shot. Thought it was destiny. Remember the name.

Haha, I put on my FB on the way home yesterday that he nearly had his own 'Remember the name..' moment. Place would have gone nuts if that had gone in, remember standing there watching all the replays to see how close it was. The last one.....

Whether or not its Osman or Barkley in that spot, I did think that midfield was probably set up as perfectly as it could be given the current squad. If Fellaini isnt sold, all it will need is a replacement for Pienaar (Hoilett maybe), and a midfielder capable of covering either Gibson or Fellaini if they get injured and Moist can then concentrate on spending the money on a striker.
