Ross Barkley

Assuming that Ossie is doubtful, I'd like to see him in the same position tomorrow with Jelavic playing just ahead of him.

His link up play with Vic didn't really work on Tuesday.

It almost did a couple of times. But it certainly fell off in the second half when Arsenal got a better grip on the midfield.

That said, I agree with you. I've had a crush on Anichebe for years (vault me, I dare you), but he doesn't always react to passes into space. He's much better when the ball is played to his feet and he has room to turn or lay it off. Barkley seems to like the through balls and the weighted passes into space.

Still, I'm going to pass out the first time Barkley and Victor work a nice wall pass and Ross takes a keeper's arm off at the shoulder.

This really.

Anichebe is only good at holding the ball up when he's under pressure and get's the 1 goal in 3 games, but that being said, Jelavic is the complete opposite, crap at holding balls up but decent at making runs. That's why I personally think Barkley will be better behind him so he can play him through.

I'd like to see Jelavic infront of him too.

Decent at making runs? Really? The lad practically lives offside! His chronic lack of pace means he feels the need to go far earlier than he actually needs to, leaving him offside more often than not.

As expected. And he's right IMO.

Maybe not the last bit saying he won't be a prolific goalscorer (how the **** does he know?) but I agree with everything else.

His job should be to keep the lid on any hype yes, but he shouldn't be highlighting negative reasons why, for him, he wont be number one choice right now. There's just no need to be stressing stuff like losing the ball. Just work on stuff with him and keep quiet about it. Why he constantly feels the need to denigrate players in public is beyond me. I cant think of our decent managers (or other club's) giving a dressing down to a young player who's come in and done a good job. Why does Moyes feel the need to do that.

And that's all beside the point whether he actually does or doesn't deserve a starting place. IMO, he offers more good than bad and this is a manager who's played Neville week in, week out when he stunk the ****ing place out.

“If I think he is the best man for the job he will definitely play but we have had a lot of good players in the middle this year.

Has he been watching the games?

If our midfield has been so poor that it cries out for the inclusion of Barkley, how have we managed to be in the hunt for a CL place.

Barkley isa talent and can be an excellent player in the future, but should he be included in every game,I would say that he is not ready yet.I would think that it probably will take another couple of seasons before he will be consistent and focused enough to be considered a regular. This is the case with most players, people compare him to Rooney, but Rooney was a freak of nature,Rooney was an international at 18 ,a star of the premiership at 18.He was also a forward where maybe a goal was less likely to see a goal conceded.
I think Barkley will be very happy with himself just now, broken into the Everton first team and with a chance to play a lot more first team football next season. It is also possible he could play with the England under 21s this summer as Phil Neville is now involved in that set-up.

Realisticly Mofro has 11 goals and 7 assists this year in the league playing in the hole, thats a hell of a lot to loose by playing Ross in there - but then im presuming he couldnt do something similar if given the opportunity. We all know the Mofro situation is ifs and buts in the summer, Ross's time will come but its been encouraging the faith shown recently. Ive never been surer then anything that this lad is the best we've had for a hell of long time inclusive of anyone you want to mention through the academy - he has everything.

Or he's just giving his reason why he more than likely won't take play today, and to explain to a few fans (like on this thread) why he's not playing him.

Although I agree he shouldve played him more, his reasons are true.

And I do agree, he should not have pulled up the kids negatives there. A complete opposite to SAF saying Phil Jones can play anywhere and is a sensational player...

Yep.

You gonna get rid of that just to compensate Barkley at the moment? No. But there will be a time for it.
