Ross Barkley

I know its dangerous saying this but I think Ross is a lot different from Rooney...hes a true blue and he might leave one day but he'll want to do it when its suits us and him and he does so with our blessing (like Arteta)...I think he will give everything to achieve his goals with us first..if he gives us 5 years and we haven't achieved anything then I don't think anybody would give him a hard time for leaving

We have a top class side pushing for honours. I can't see the lad wanting to move yet. He's an evertonian. Money can turn the eye though. Hopefully we get him on a new contract with proper wages.

its quite clear where the key to good results lie this season

either barkely and deulofeu or both have to play from the start.

look at the recent 0-0s we have had - spurs and palace - neither started. all other games one or the other has started. its those two who can provide the cutting edge from the outset that will get us goals.

I've said it many times in this thread; he's going to be one of, if not THE greatest talent this country has ever produced.

It's critical that we do everything we can to keep this lad at Everton and build a side around him for the next decade.

An insane talent.

He's Zidane with a touch of Gazza, mixed with a bit of Hoddle and essence of Essien, with the accent of Rooney, the hairstyle of Theo Huxtable and the right Bollock of Ballack.

The utter arrogance of United fans on red cafe is beyond anything. Every comment is "should we leave him there for another year to develop" or "let's get him even though we'll be fleeced".

Agree with someone above: new contract & £65m buy out clause. And Mr Martinez to tell Kenwright that selling Ross would be the trigger for him to resign.

Hahaha, idiots.

I'm just going to enjoy watching a true blue with world class potential rip it up for us. No point worrying about the inevitable speculation.

This time next year, when the "Moyes Effect" is truly gone, threads like this won't be "let's tie him down/get the best fee possible/when will United buy him"; the attitude would have changed to "who can we sign to compliment him/how can we build a side around him for the next 10 years".

It's a fundamental shift in mindset that is occurring right now, and it's one I've been waiting for for a long, long time.

Great isn't it. I would never, ever have predicted myself being this happy with our new manager 15 games in to this season. The transformation has been rapid and dramatic. Couldn't be happier with Everton now.

Is that for real? Surely he had his tongue in his cheek when he wrote that.

Regarding our paranoia of losing Barkley (with some even wanting us to sell him just so we can raise funds), Rooney has a lot to do with it. We lost a local blue lad with the kind of English talent that comes around only once every 10 years (Hoddle, Gazza, Le Tiss...Barkley?), and we spent the money from the sale very well.

Personally, I'd like him to stay for the whole of his career...proper one-club man, helping us win things.

This season, and especially the last few games, he's proven to be exceptionally dynamic. When people talk of Gazza, Ballack, Zidane et al, they're not necessarily saying he can be as good as them, but they're saying his movement and control is reminiscent of how they played the game. It's quite a rare thing, so gets noticed when a young player struts like that.

Roy surely has to include him in the squad. And if he gets first-11 (I think he might), then Ross Barkley may well explode just as Wayne Rooney did 10 years previously (Euro 2004).

Refusing those mega ££££ bids won't be easy. Let's hope Bobby's boys can secure us a European adventure by the end of this season.

It's gonna be Rooney euro 2004 all over again i tell ya, united or whoever will bid big for him and that'll be that. They can tripple the wage we'll offer and his agent is moyes son.

Going to end in tears.

Just gonna enjoy him for this season and try and forget about the inevitable
