how can anyone complain about hibbo in the city game? it was effective and he was solid. a bit of luck and a bit of a masterstroke if you ask me.

its ore about what the decision says about moyes attitude when it comes to youth and experience

I would agree but there have been past ocassion where he's given Youth a chance, see Barkley, Duffy, Vaughan, Anichebe, Rooney.
p.s. Every time I read you posts, it's Christopher Walken's voice in my head, which is hilarious and something I cannot help, which for me makes you one of the best posters on here.

moyes got lucky with that decision, hibbert did ok, but Jonny's leadership at the back was the key in that game, but thats beside the point, Moyes would rather player an average experienced player out of position than play a promising youngster on a good run of form in his proper position
Did Hibbert say that? Did John win all Hibbert's headers and tackles and mark every City player that night?

Duffy came in and did alright when he played. Looked solid enough but made some rookie errors that were fortunately not punished. He was rightly taken out of the line up regardless of how Hibbert played against City. Duffy was NOT great, he was okay. Great for his age, yes. But not for the level he was playing at. We need to judge the young players equally when they play in the first team. There's too much fapping over mediocrity with the youngsters sometimes. Many wouldn't have taken £30m for Rodwell a few years ago. Says it all.

I'm not including Barkley in that. He's shown genuine ability to live up to his hype, a la Rooney. It's just the way some players are held in such high regard, such as Vellios which I can't get my head around. His work rate against Fulham made Saha look like f*cking Marcus Bent. Barely touched the ball.

Sorry, rant over. I just think that people over-rate our youngsters/reserves. RS fans are as bad. I could think of hundreds of times I've been told so and so was going to be the next big thing there over the last decade and there've been barely any who've broken through.

Hibbert was outstanding against City, I thought Moyes should started Duffy that night coz the previous two games he was brilliant, but Hibbert justified his starting position at right back. I would go as far to say best individual performance of the season, when you put it into context

Which reinforces the "we give youth a chance" line as something we don't do, we play them out of necessity.

United give their youth more of a chance than we do, throwing them into massive games.

If they're not good and ready then fine. Just tone down the giving youth a chance stuff Mr Moylez

I ask the same question about Barkley, if he's not doing it at lower levels, why do you think he's gonna do it at Premiership level??

To be fair mate, you weren't even impressed by his performance against Greece, and when someone puts that much evidence infront of you and you still can't see it, I think it's time to choose a different sport to follow. Women's Judo looks pretty decent.

Well said. Re. the City game, that was an understandable and justifiable decions and not really one worthy of bashing Moyes with in regards to his use of youth, Champions Elect in your 4th start isn't the time to be playing youth, especially in defence.

That time is when you're playing at home against mid table teams with not much to play for (like Sunderland and Fulham) and are resting players for upcoming FA cup games. Thats the time to play youth.

Especially if you are 2-3 nil up in those games, thats the perfect time to play youth.

Not James McFadden.
