Well said. Re. the City game, that was an understandable and justifiable decions and not really one worthy of bashing Moyes with in regards to his use of youth, Champions Elect in your 4th start isn't the time to be playing youth, especially in defence.

That time is when you're playing at home against mid table teams with not much to play for (like Sunderland and Fulham) and are resting players for upcoming FA cup games. Thats the time to play youth.

Especially if you are 2-3 nil up in those games, thats the perfect time to play youth.

Not James McFadden.

I agree with this tbf. I was a bit disappointed with the amount of time given to Barkley in the 4-0s especially. We don't know the reasoning behind it though. If Barkley, for example, was played in August, there'll have been a reason why he wasn't played in those games. Not that I'd necessarily agree with the reasoning.

I would agree but there have been past ocassion where he's given Youth a chance, see Barkley, Duffy, Vaughan, Anichebe, Rooney.
p.s. Every time I read you posts, it's Christopher Walken's voice in my head, which is hilarious and something I cannot help, which for me makes you one of the best posters on here.

Cheers lad, incidently i heard christopher walken asks for all punctuality to be taken out of scripts he recieves so he can decide how to structure a sentance when saying it.

Anyway, with regards youth, id anyone concerned that Rodwell and Barkley look better and more confident players when playing for their country than under Moyes

To be fair mate, you weren't even impressed by his performance against Greece, and when someone puts that much evidence infront of you and you still can't see it, I think it's time to choose a different sport to follow. Women's Judo looks pretty decent.

Like i said, i missed the 1st 20 mins of the 2nd half in that game, so didnt see it, i have now seen back that game, and he was great but his passing was still way off.

Just a young kid who suffered a bad injury and is under pressure already from the fans who have build him up to be the next world class player, Moyes knows best, well better then all of you on here who are ****ging Moyes off for not playing him.

you might well be right mate, i hope you are, but it doesnt make Moyes beyond question, sycophantic acceptance of everything your gaffer does is for that horrible lot across the park, granted I accept I can too far the other way and do enjoy a pop at old rusty balls

Injuries.

If he's so good towards the youth, then why did just Neville play a full game and half of it at LB, when we supposedly have the up-and-coming Bidwell and Garbutt in the same position?

I dont see how thats relevent mate, you get your chance how you get your chance, its up to you to dislodge the one in pocession of the shirt.

On Garbutt and Bidwell prob because they were at different clubs.

Which reinforces the "we give youth a chance" line as something we don't do, we play them out of necessity.

United give their youth more of a chance than we do, throwing them into massive games.

If they're not good and ready then fine. Just tone down the giving youth a chance stuff Mr Moylez

Disagree, Utd youngsters have to earn there place, trust me there are many in the youth team dont get anywhere near the training with the first team.

The facts are there young players get a chance at Everton, its up to them to take it, people just want to see them play so they can make there own minds up on them - which is a bit naive tbf.

they get their chance, in some case take their chance, in others make a single mistake, either way last season all were banished back to the reserves never to be seen again that season

Ill accept that maybe, if you or anyone else tells me who out of our starting 11 against Newcastle you would drop in that game for one of our young players.

Or which young players you defo want to start against Utd and who to drop.

I really think people dont know what they want but they want loads of it and yesterday, last week Heitinga was linked with a move away and people were apoplectic and saying things like we need cover for Jags and Distin, very few were saying "get Duffy on". Similarly, how many wingers have we been linked with this summer, id heard very few say lets hang onto the money and give Gueye a go for the season.

To read this discussion on Barkley it could be assumed that we are talking about a 25 year old who never was given the chance to play and who career was blighted because of this.
Barkley is still only eighteen years old,he should be playing in the youth cup team this season. To read some posts on here you would think that his career was over rather than having properly started yet.

It's because we as Evertonians saw a brief glimmer of light and enjoyment amid the dross when we saw Ross play for the first few games of the season, and I for one would rather watch an exciting young ball player than Phil Neville chipping it into an area where Louis Saha can't be bothered to run.

People like Barkley and Drenthe can put a few extra thou on our gates, people who only attend 10-12 games a season like myself can find a bit of impetus in going when there's players like that on your roster.

Had a RS the other day laughing at me about how mustard Barkley is, yet we will "probably" [Poor language removed] him up like Rodwell or not hold on to him like Rooney.
