Which is why I said at the bottom, that if they're not good enough, they're not good enough.

But if you're telling me Moyes would play a youngster over a Neville or Hibbert etc no matter how good he was in a big game, then I haven't seen it.

Where as at United, Fergie has no problem playing youth in massive champos league games and derbys.

The only way to find out if they're good enough is to throw them in at the deep end

And watch them drown? Or you could do as most people who are learning to swim do, start in the kiddy pool with the wings on then progress to the shallow end of the big pool before you decide to start racing against Michael Phelps and all the while just making sure you dont sink (under the expectation).

Or in our case, start in the kiddy pool and stay there.

Welbeck, Wilshere, Cleverely, Sturridge.

Wilshire injured, perhaps too physical too soon?(although a quality player)
Sturridge doesn't get much game time at Chelsea.
Wellbeck only just broke through as has Cleverley.Rodwell was getting game time before injury
All are 3 or 4 years older than barclay
That's four youngsters out of 18 clubs. Not a lot really

As much as are given a chance. We wouldn't know unless we try, right? So in the cup(s), friendlies, 'won' games (when we're leading 3 or 4:0, you know that one time this season this will happen) or even games in which we're losing or performing badly - why not try and, you know, make a positive sub? Send in a hungry, young player who will give them hell, or at least try to? Wanna know why? Because Neville will ALWAYS be in front of Barkley in the pecking order, because it's the Moyes way. Because that new youngster who we've bought for a mil' off some lower league/foreign team will rot in the reserves, because that's the Moyes way. I dread to think if Baines, Hibbo and Neville are all unfit, we'd probably start Weir in defence, as he's the one with experience, and we'd probably be playing some Blue Square team. Because experience is always more important for us nowadays, even if the player is obviously dreadful, because it's the Moyes way of favouritism. For what we know - we might have the next fu*cking Messi in the youths at the moment, and he'll get a total of 3 games before being sold to a lower league team at the age of 23 and already "mentally broken". Or if he's good enough - he'll become a champion. But not with us, it's just not our thing.

It was the same thing with Cahill - fit or not, better options or not, he'll play on injections, because he has experience. And he'll do [Poor language removed] all for a whole season.

I love how people are happy with the way we treat youth players. Baffling to say the least. "You don't win anything with youths", right? Because we're winning the treble every damn year with this ageing half-sunk ship.

Also - we give a chance ONLY when we have a total of 10 first team players.

This is why I hate going on the Everton forum during the summer.

great post mate

But
Hibbert,Osman,Baines,Jags all started in our academy.
Rodwell,Barclay Duffy Mcaleny Baxter Vellios gueye to name a few youngsters have been given premier league game time.
A good few more than most premier league clubs.

Not out of 8 clubs, out of the four champions league club and you can add Phil Jones, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chris Smalling to that. The big clubs risk their young players and we don't. Isn't it pretty clear that they are the ones doing better?

Welbeck, Wilshere, Cleverely, Sturridge.
N'Zonzi (although he's not that good, but not a bad player), De Gea, Phil Jones, Smalling, the Silva brothers, Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ramsey, half of the Arsenal team as a whole, Romeu, McEachran, Micah Richards was brought in a while ago and was quite young, and I could probably go on a bit more here, but I can't be arsed.

Highlighted - because of an injury crisis. Plus we actually had to buy most of those back, you know? Baines and Jags cost a few, Vellios and Gueye are a combined total of about 2m pounds too.

If it wasn't for a crisis at their positions do you think we would've seen them play?

I'll tell you something for nothing if we had bought Kyle Walker instead of Spurs, he wouldn't be our first choice already.

Nor would Bale.

Those three cost megabucks.
Other clubs took a chance on them before the money clubs bought them.
The big clubs can risk them because they are playing with better players against inferior opposition, therefore they are less exposed.
Still not a massive amount of youngsters ripping the premier league up is it?

Are these really ripping up the premier league EVERY week?
Are they all 21 or under?

LOL

You dont know that, so try and stick to facts.

IF MOIST BOUGHT MESSI, HE WOULD STILL BE ON LOAN TO CHESTER LADS.

Never let facts get in the way of a good witch hunt.

Most are, yes. N'zonzi is 23 or something, but he's been given regular starts, maybe not every week at first but SOME starts, for the last 3 or so seasons. De Gea is 21, Phil Jones is 20, Smalling is 21 or 22, but he's been playing solid and for the last season or so, The Silva's are about 20, Gibbs is 22, Alex Ox is 13 or so, Ramsey is 21, Romeu is 20, McEachran is 19 or 20, Richards - I already said it.

This is mostly off the top of my head checking players.
