All that is lacking is the consistency in having the vision to put players through, which Barkley has shown he has at times too. Perhaps its the effortless technique when on the ball and passing it that resonates with me.

Remember that game vividly. The best individual performance I've ever seen that.

Agree with you completely about the Zidane and Barkley comparison. I think he'll fall somewhat behind in terms of composure and languid brilliance in possession, but I think he'll have a lot more pure drive and energy than Zidane had.

I've said it before in this thread, I honestly think we're watching the greatest talent this country has ever seen come through the ranks.

If the only business we do this summer is signing Barkley to a brand new contract ill be happy enough, it hopefully will stop all the paper talk and twitter garbage about him leaving ( the reds are convinced he is joining them apparently). Im worried the World cup will put him further in the shop window, hopefully he doesn't have an agent like Stretford telling him he can get massive money at another club, would be heartbreaking to see Ross leave.
