Ross Barkley

Mate, don't be like that lot across the park and living in the past. Give it a few years and they will surpass that, just like United done to Liverpool.

It's not the past. It's History ;-)

What sickens me the most, is that a section of Everton fans would actually think getting 50m for Ross Barkley would be "good business".

It wouldn't be but it would be the best we could do if he refused to sign a new contract. No one wants him to go and I don't think there will be an issue but we would have no choice.

The very reputable daily mail reckon City will go for him if Yaya leaves.

There will be countless stories linking him with a move away all window, at least whilst there is no new deal signed.

Unless he wants away, we're in a position not to sell unless a ridiculous bid comes in. Think it's a couple of years yet before he's shown to be worth 40+ million to other teams. He's still young and improving.

And even the Mail had the sense to include the following paragraph -

"Suffice to say Everton have no plans to sell Barkley. After last season's step forward, it would be a huge fall backwards to sell the 20-year-old. The statement it sends out would undermine what the club is striving to achieve.
They know they could command £50million plus but Barkley is pivotal to the plans of Roberto Martinez. If those plans come to fruition that should convince Barkley his immediate future is at Goodison."

If a big teams wants him then they will get him mate. That is what they do.
.

They wont this year because he hasnt done enough to get he type of offer we would need, bids of 25/30m will just get laughed at and i cant see anyone paying 50 odd for him right now, they can want him al the like, but we dont have to sell him and wont be doing so

Shocked.

Don't think he will leave myself, there will loads written about it though.

Yet Luke Shaw goes to Utd for £30m? I think £40m for Barkley at this stage of his development in this market is a fair price, in a couple of years at this rate it'll be double.
