Ross Barkley

Football fans in taking exception to opposition fan trying to convince them, in patronising tone, that their young, popular, extremely talented player will be taken off them by his club if not this summer, then the next, whilst probably chatting out of his arse the whole time shocker.

You do realise this is an Everton forum don't you mate?

You've been getting some barbed comments due to the patronising tone of your posts, so you are merely reaping what you have sown

Nonsense. IF anyone thinks I'm being patronising they're proper insecure. There's a bunch of reasons why I have a lot of respect for both Everton the club and your supporter base. I've sat in amongst you a couple of times and never had any grief. You have some top players, a top manager, and last season played football which was as good as the football anyone in the league played. Saying things like that isn't patronising it's just me being honest.

Anyway this thread's about Barkley and i've been warned by the mods so we should stick to the topic at hand. Is Ross already good enough to replace someone like Toure. I think he is. He has all the attributes, and has age on his side. Equally he could be your own Yaya Toure if Martinez and Kenwright build a team around him.

I think I prefer this option tbh mate if that's ok?

no he isnt , so you dont want a barkley.
what you want is a good reliable little runner with a bit of pep. now over here i have something that will sort you out a treat , a good engine with decent bodywork , a lovely little player with a lot of pizazz that will get all the girlies chasing you . its available at a very reasonable cost , 30 million ...its called an osman.

I believe he's more suited to the other team from Manchester. ;)

Can we keep on the topic of Ross Barkley lads, rather than discuss Man City?

Cheers

Agreed.

Ross will sign new deal with Everton in due course

tbh mate i can't see him going to City. I think he will be with us for a few years yet to see what we can achieve before looking for patures new. And IF we did decide to sell because he was pushing for a move i think there will be a few more clubs in ahead of City who he may consider. Time will tell though mate but i certainly don't see him leaving this summer/jan/next summer unless stupid money is thrown at Everton that is too good to refuse.

Goes without saying. But the lad's gotta sort his contract out and stop dithering.
I get the impression we've tied that one up already, nobody seems particularly worried about it. Could be me being naive obviously, but it's his break out year under a manager who clearly trusts him and in a team he would stand out in. Money aside, it'd be a bit daft for him to move yet, if at all hopefully.

a true post of common sense.

You are correct in saying that this is not patronising or condescending. However, quite a lot of the posts I've seen from you are. It's the same sort of attitude that we see from United fans, speaking like if city wants a player it's a forgone conclusion that they will get him (whether it's this window or the next). Anyway it's ironic that the response to being called condescending/patronising is to patronise people further by telling them they're either insecure or a child.

From my point of view, I couldn't care less if you want to spend your time on an Everton forum drooling over Barkley because some rag has linked you with him. It's just a pity that Man City fans don't seem to have retained any of the perspective that I would've expected from their pre-billionaire days.
