Ross Barkley

Think Ronko was jumping the gun a bit when he said there would be a statement. Think he was just in a huff as Barkley had ignored his ultimatum.

I've never seen a club announce that they are selling somebody in an official statement, and I can't see us doing it.

To save face we might put out a generic 'Barkley is in talks over his future, there will be no further comment' or something.

Neville got that spot on.
How can he be pushing him out of the door, if there's a contract on the table waiting for his signature?

If he had wanted him out of the door, he'd have told them he didn't want to retain him and there'd be no contract on the table.

Tell Neville not me. I'd say he's got the strength of the situation like.

Unless Ross has been offered a 50k a week deal that is just not true, anything 80k to 100k is about what he deserves at the moment. If he has a contract in front of him that says that then he hasn't been pushed out.

You can correctly say he hasn't been shown a lot of love though.
Outsiders are seeing it as a managerial decision to constructively dismiss Barkley.

It seems the majority of people want him to stay. But if he does, what do we think is going to change that will improve his performances?

I can't see Koeman using him any differently and if anything I can see him being less of a starter.

If and i very much doubt it Koeman gets the players in he wants then Barkley will be a sub/squad player, he hasn't got a natural position after all this time

You said Neville was spot on though, therefore you must think the logic applied makes perfect sense......only it doesn't does it?
That's what the industry sees, that's what I meant. It sees a player being singled out by a manager who wouldn't do at Southampton what he's demanding Ross to do here.

Yes, because "there will be a statement" is to be taken fifty different ways apparently.

... can't newspapers just curl up in a corner and die already...
Appalling isn't it?

Arse covering a manager who cant keep his own counsel.

The yellow dog 'journalism' of the Echo in all its ugliness.

Neville got that spot on.
In which case, if Koeman didn't see Ross as part of his plans, wouldn't he just drop him to the bench? Wouldn't he have played valencia in his place all season? From what we've seen, Koeman is very honest / direct, i believe he'd just come out and say it "i feel he has a lot to learn / has a lot of improving to do" or something of that nature if that was the case. I don't really buy the fact that he's deliberately trying to show Ross the door.

This seems to me like another one of your conspiracies Davek.
