Ross Barkley

Barkley has every right to be annoyed how his form was handled by koeman earlier in the season, when he spoke so openly in the media.
However I don't know why he thinks koeman might be so unreasonable regarding his contract. He has a contract on the table, if he wishes to sign it great. However surely Ross and his agent must realise that if he fails to sign a new contract, he will have to leave the club, otherwise we will end up with him walking out of the club for nothing next summer.

Appalling isn't it?

Arse covering a manager who cant keep his own counsel.

The yellow dog 'journalism' of the Echo in all its ugliness.

How come in all your posts about Barkley you bring the manager up? But dont talk about Barkleys roll in all this? Its the player who hasnt signed the contract causing the problem. Why cant he be professional like Stones and Lukaku and say something, say why, tell your story after all there must be two sides to it?

Considering the way he has acting I think Koeman has been dignified in all this, even still playing him when other managers might not of done so.

When all said and done its Everton that needs to come first, not the player or the manager, its the club he is messing about more then anything, personly I really hope we withdraw the contract as I dont want him at Everton, im guessing Koeman might not want him either but what does he want? We all really have no idea and this is half the problem, its pathetic.

Bloody hell.

Outsiders are seeing it as a managerial decision to constructively dismiss Barkley.

Can't see how they can say that until some details come out regarding the contract offer. If in the end Barkley says he wouldn't sign due to an unfair clause or it was low a offer that the club refused to budge on then fair enough.

Just because Ron doesn't want to praise him or give him guarantees he will start every game doesn't mean he is being pushed out. Sign a 5 year deal and he will only deal with Koeman for another 2 seasons at most.

In which case, if Koeman didn't see Ross as part of his plans, wouldn't he just drop him to the bench? Wouldn't he have played valencia in his place all season? From what we've seen, Koeman is very honest / direct, i believe he'd just come out and say it "i feel he has a lot to learn / has a lot of improving to do" or something of that nature if that was the case. I don't really buy the fact that he's deliberately trying to show Ross the door.

This seems to me like another one of your conspiracies Davek.
No, he wouldn't cut his nose off to spite his face. He wanted what RB could offer over and above Valencia but wants some non-creative hard working drone in to fit his master plan...think Steven Davis and you wont be far out.

Dignified is not the word that springs to mind. Try loose cannon.

He's right when he says he constantly bangs on about Barkley in the media. He has and he still does.

and the conspiracy thickens.

I don't like how Koeman has handled the situation & if it was a choice between Koeman leaving or Ross leaving, i'd wave goodbye to Koeman. I believe in building a squad of boyhood Evertonians (or with as many as possible).

That being said, I don't believe Koeman has been sent to planet earth to destroy Everton and obliterate us into a thousand pieces either. Davek...

Its a squad of good players we need, who cares what teams they support IE Peter Reid

Just staring at the screen for a few minutes aghast at this post, but let's try and respond!

Erm...

How come in all your posts about Barkley you bring the manager up? But dont talk about Barkleys roll in all this?

Because there's nothing to critique. He's done nothing wrong. He's been the consummate professional here.

Its the player who hasnt signed the contract causing the problem.

Which is the job of the club to address behind the scenes with the agent, in a private, professional manner. If it's an insurmountable problem for the club, sell the asset, which is their right. It's only a problem if the club makes it one.

Why cant he be professional like Stones and Lukaku and say something, say why, tell your story after all there must be two sides to it?

That... that's the opposite of professionalism in this scenario. The literal, exact opposite.

Considering the way he has acting I think Koeman has been dignified in all this

*speechless*

Great, tell Everton that and remind them they are a professional business that should conduct said business in a better way than via mouthpieces like Ronald Koeman's gob in press conferences and some tit on TalkSport.

its the club he is messing about more then anything

He's messed nobody around whatsoever. You've bought into Koeman's ego trip on that. He's got on with his contracted job like he agreed to do when he signed it.

I really hope we withdraw the contract as I dont want him at Everton, im guessing Koeman might not want him either but what does he want? We all really have no idea and this is half the problem, its pathetic.

... and again, this is all because of Koeman. Your post doesn't exist if it were not for Koeman. If you can't see that... don't know what to say really, it's as clear as the nose on my face what's happened here.
