Right, but your statement was purely from the club's POV.

Ross has to think of himself as well. If the club are offering him a poor contract (in his own eyes), he has every right to attempt to get an improved offer, or talk to other clubs.

He's doing nothing wrong. Koeman going on about it is trying to play on his childhood loyalties, and that's not a negotiating tactic I personally am comfortable with. It's dirty pool.

I agree with 90% of that, except one thing. If Ross wishes to leave for money purposes or to better his career then all he had to do was one thing, tell his employers. Then they know and can start planning.

The club need to plan and get the ball rolling on transfers, that can't happen when you have someone leaving you in limbo

Whatever gets decided. I'm not buying into the whole not signing business. Either he signs the better contract and wants to stay or we sell him as soon as we can for thinking he is bigger than the club.

I don't care if he is a blue, he should be either signing the minute he gets the contract or telling everyone he wants to leave.

No one is going to offer anywhere near £30 million for him for two reasons first he's in the last year of his contract and second he is just not productive enough. He is full of potential withdoubt but the he really by now should be a stand out performer and quite simply he is too inconsistent
Whether he is worth £10m or £50m, the point about a club asset walking is still valid.
I tend to agree with a lower valuation because he disappears in too many games.

Actually, no he doesn't.
Eh, rules I suppose - I know that's a rule in American sports, wasn't aware that was forbidden in the Prem.

However, if he and his agent believe Everton are lowballing him, they can quite rightly decide to not sign the contract and take their chances elsewhere. My main issue is with it being a public spectacle, because if he signs now I think it will have impacted his relationship with fans in a way that may affect his production, being such a confidence player.

Which is why I believe it's either a stupid move, or Koeman actively pushing him out.

I agree! But he does have a year left, and I have no problem with an ultimatum.

I just don't know why the ultimatum had to be broadcast.

No statement today.

As I said to tubey, I think it's to take the focus away from Everton and firmly put the decision in Ross' hands. He wants out then the world knows it was his choice and not the clubs
