It upsets me any time a homegrown kid wants out. Complete lack of humility and gratitude in modern football. Afraid I can't agree with you on this one although I understand your view. Massive privilege for any scouse kid to play for this club. It upsets me that that's no longer the case.

You don't know if he wants out. In fact, I'd be amazed if he does. You simply don't know - you're grabbing numbers from thin air, adding them together and getting the wrong answer.

It could easily just be the case that his agent is negotiating for him to get the best possible deal, because whilst he loves playing here he still obviously deserves to be compensated in line with his peers while doing so. His agent will look at the situation objectively and think "why should he be on less than Mirallas? Why is he only getting 2/3 of what Lukaku was offered?" - and then negotiate.

I wish people would just look at the obvious - Koeman has been a loose cannon in press conferences, opened his trap when he shouldn't have, and opened the flood gates to a lad getting undeserved criticism when he's said and done absolutely nothing wrong.

He shouldn't be rewarded with a lukaku type contract when Lukaku scored 5x more goals.

Just out of interest, take DCL he signed a four year contract last August, he then got into the first team squad, played and scored. He was then rewarded with a five year contract. Why? Everton decided we got that wrong, we ought to give him a massive pay rise. Or? His agent put out stories of Arsenal being interested and got him contract negotiations.

Ross signed a new contract in 2014, scored 12 goals 2015, made his 100th appearance, around 2016, so why was no new contract negotiated then because it would make sense to renegotiate at that point right?

Koeman is looking like a tit, but Barkley and agent have caused it IMHO.

You are guessing all along. None of these can be proven. You don't know how much the club had offered him. Maybe his agent is greedy? Who knows.

Mate, there's a middle ground between replying with "phenomenal" to every question and generally talking out your arse, and openly disclosing sensitive business matters because you want to reply bluntly to every question.

It's just called being professional about certain things. There's room for "no comment" - he doesn't owe the press an answer about confidential business matters.

Look, if he gets asked about a transfer target, he shrugs his shoulders, right? Because it makes professional sense to do so, because you don't want to disclose important or sensitive information? The same thing should have happened here - it's just common sense.

I have to agree with you to a degre, but the point I was trying to make is that RK hasn't singled him out, he's responded - probably to honestly, however, I think it's refreshing that we haven't got a manager telling us it's all going to be ok.

He would be shot for hiding the facts and called a puppet of Kenwright if he made no comment or shot for sharing his frustrations that Ross hasn't signed and was keeping the club and the manager in the dark.

Koeman started in 2016 end of season. How was it his fault we never signed up Barkley in 2015 or early 2016, not just Koeman making a tit of himself then. :)

This whole thing is a joke now. Both club and player look pathetic. Still no announcement as promised

First it was a week, then ten days then today.

The phrases "24 hours" "48 hours" and "watch this space" are common phrases used by the club when BS is being spoken of

What's has he done to earn a 100 grand a week mate

Well... Uhm...You know

There was that time he rounded the goalkeeper and celebrated before putting the ball in the net. That was entertaining for a bit.

In all seriousness it's just what England internationals expect to be on and if players like Shelvey are on 70 to 80 and if that figure is true about Ashley Williams then you would say about 100k is about right unfortunately.

That's what I mean, if they wanted a new contract it could have been done this time last season.

Koeman has been drawn into it and is just being honest.
