hardly the sign of a new era is it? when one of your best players refuses to sign a new contract worth £100k a week, clearly he has no faith in the Everton project and who can blame him with cuckoo Martina lined up, surely you people are starting to realise this isnt what Kenwright and Moshiri promised? clearly Ross has sussed the frauds out

Billionaire businessman Farhad Moshiri has been sussed out by Ross Barkley who eats glue on toast. Ok.

By "you people" you mean evertonians?

What an utter turd show this is

Yep in one

There is clearly far more to this than we know.If it was just one player then maybe maybe it could be explained away but it's not.

Some on here say that RK doesn't rate Ros. Had that been the case there is no way that he or indeed any competent board would have sanctioned what is reported would have made RB the highest player in Everton's history. As an aside that barrier is going to have to be breached significantly if you want to attract top players to the club or keep those players that are show their worth.
If he didn't fit , wasn't up to up, wasn't liked by the manager or for whatever reason then quietly and professionally behind closed doors his agent should have been told what's what the agent would then be permitted to go looking for another club. You don't play this type of situation out in news conferences it's not professional and from the player and his agent I suspect it's viewed as confrontational and far from facilitating a resolution I suspect it's done nothing other than make Ros and his agent more determined to hold out for whatever they are looking for.

Far too many on here are pointing fingers at RB and how he has or hasn't acted. For me he has done nothing wrong he has kept his own counsel he clearly isn't happy with something most suspect it's about the money and it may well be but for me it's just as likely to be more to it and I can only keep going back to Roms reasons for not signing a new deal and that can't be viewed as anything other than a worry.

But again you suspect. You don't know.

None of us really know what's going on. But people always go to the negative.

I know that the manager made comments in front of the press which either he was authorised to make or did so off his own back but not just that the PR department at Everton have behaved like amateurs unless again they have been instructed to feed information to the press .

"Everton give up on re-signing Ross Barkley, but £50m valuation could deny Tottenham and Manchester United target a transfer

Though the Toffees will now reluctantly listen to summer offers the midfielder may have to wait for a Bosman in 2018
Everton accept they have reached the end of the line in contract talks with Ross Barkley. And that means they will reluctantly consider offers for the England international. Midfielder Barkley has made it clear he will not budge in refusing the £100,000-a-week offer that would make him the highest-earning player in club history. Chairman Bill Kenwright has been working for more than a year in the hope of persuading the home-grown star to commit his long-term future to the Toffees.

Everton were prepared to offer Barkley a better deal than the one Romelu Lukaku originally accepted earlier this year, before a u-turn saw the Belgian striker announce he wanted to leave the club just minutes before putting pen to paper.

But the 23-year-old Scouser has dragged his feet over the new five-year contract, and his advisors indicated on Wednesday that there would be no 11th hour acceptance. While the Goodison board still want to make Barkley - with his close connection to the fans after coming through the club’s youth system - the foundation of a squad set to be significantly enhanced in the summer transfer window, manager Ronald Koeman is unwilling to indulge any player who isn't 100 per cent committed.

And with negotiations collapsing, that means the Dutchman will listen to offers for his playmaker, with both Tottenham AND Manchester United expressing interest. Barkley may feel he can attract a bigger offer from those two clubs, but the stumbling block could be a fee. Everton have indicated the asking price is £50million - which could see an impasse build over the summer, with the player considering seeing out the final year of his current contract before moving on a Bosman after next season."

We'll probably have a go at signing Rooney this summer and then welcome Barkley back with open arms in 10 years.
When's the window open again?!

Ross is having a bangin' time in Ibiza

When was this?

It's really not a drama, and I don't see what Koeman has done wrong. Barkley clearly is unhappy at being criticised and being asked to work harder and has decided life may be easier elsewhere. Maybe he suggested he would run his contract down and this is Everton making it clear that they don't see that as an option. If we now get offers for Barkley, accept them and he refuses to leave it makes it clear to fans what he is up to. It also helps explain why we would stick him in the reserves for a year if he stayed and refused to sign. Barkley is holding his 'boyhood club' to ransom in a similar way to Rooney. RK is damned for going public yet if we simply sold him in the summer or worse kept him a year and he went for free next year imagine the fume and accusations of incompetence. I for one lay the blame solely at the door of a football prima donna with an inflated sense of entitlement.
