However when I see us being linked with free agents from Southampton I'm not surprised he wants off! If you anyone genuinely believes a free agent from Southampton is a step into the top four then football is not in your nature

I don't doubt there's some brinksmanship to it all but for a lot of fans it sours impressions when there's a local lad turning his nose up at a new contract from Everton.

In fairness if shouldn't have been left this late but Barkley dragging his heels won't curry him any favour in the city.

If he decides to stay then sound, I just think he's been ill advised over how much he is worth. Playing well in half the games since the new year doesn't make you an elite player.

Reckon he'll stay now. And tbf, he's hardly done a Gerrard and gone out demanding a transfer. He's tried to play Ronko and he's lost, but he'll cop the hit and keep on slugging away in the blue.
