It strikes me that if Barkley is playing a game of brinkmanship with his wage demands he's skating on thin ice. Wages as we all know represent the biggest outgoing in football, and given the regulations that now surround them you would have to assume that any contract offer is very carefully considered. Given that the proffered contract apparently remains on the table unchanged it points to the club regarding this as the final offer. Increasing the offer may affect the leeway Koeman and Walsh have in upcoming player purchases. Barkley could accidentally manoeuvre himself out of the club, which would be silly.

Likely the case on the official PL figures, my source is an algorythem used in coaching and scouting in professional leagues that data bases key indicators it's actually affiliated to the PL, that's quite a deviation in the actual and official.
