I don't really care for assists. Ross Barkley has the talent to be scoring 25-yarders almost every week, or beating 3 men to set up goals. He has not played that well this season and I would take £30m no problem to swap him with Rooney if he doesn't like Koeman, as seems to be the case.

I doubt we've offered £100K a week like we've leaked to the press though so don't blame Barkley for feeling a little aggrieved. His effort cannot be questioned, he puts in a shift and is often on his own.

But you have to consider Koeman signed Mane for £10m and sold him for £34M. Not bad at all for a club like Southampton. Koeman is the man Joey! He won't let you down!

It's disappointing this is still dragging. We should have done it weeks ago, but we need to set a deadline for Ross to sign, and one second afterwards, he should be officially transfer listed. He's chancing his arm and showing a complete lack of loyalty and respect. I want players who don't feel it a chore to play for this club

100k is fine for me, just wouldn't raise it past that

I'm not paying the wages and so don't really care ...but I think you should be playing far better than Barkley for that sum of money .

If he signed this contract and started pulling up some trees he would presumably get another contract waved in front of his nose for 150k in the not too distant future.

If you are a top player you don't have to worry about the money as it will come to you regardless. However if he is going into this thinking this is my last big contract and I need to get all I can, then we are probably better off without him.

Perhaps he's waiting to see what ambition or lack of we have this summer before signing

However when I see us being linked with free agents from Southampton I'm not surprised he wants off! If you anyone genuinely believes a free agent from Southampton is a step into the top four then football is not in your nature
