Ross Barkley

I might be repeating this a few times. I think we should think of him as a late developer who needs better players around him, and with Klassen and the new team, with another year of Ronald Koeman, he might make it later in his 20s. 25 - 30 yrs old he might be amazing. It's not many people who are great players from 18 - 35 yrs old all through their career. We should stick with him. It's important having blues like Barkley, Davies, Baines and the other new lads in the team. We have to learn to be patient and supportive. The manager can take care of being critical and tough with our players let's just support

I agree. Just curious, did you say the same for Hibbo and Osman, and on a different wavelength, Howard? 2 who came through the youth setup, and one that genuinely adored playing for the club.

Hibbo was average at best, but we loved him cos he was tough and loyal and seemed to love the club. Ross is doing his best, he's not in a position on the pitch where you can show your aggression through tackles and blocks, but we should just cheer him and support him. sick of this. let's just get him signed on and he'll improve soon.

This could be right but problem is if his wages are the issue he seems to want finished product wages now and not those of a player who 4 years in is still developing

I don't view Sigurdsson as a replacement, but if he is, he'd cost 35M and make 120/week. If wages are the issue with Ross, pay him the money. He may not be as good as Gyfil, but the cost difference is massive. I'm thrilled we are spending money, but we don't have unlimited funds.

Klassen and Ross can also be on the pitch at the same time. I'd rather spend our money on Keane and hopefully another talented CB like Lemos and another winger/striking option if Rom stays.

honestly, if Ross signs, Rom stays AND we bring in Klassen, Sandro, Pickford, Keane, another CB, and a winger (maybe keep Geri?), would anyone here complain? That's a heck of a summer. We can't overhaul the team in a single window, but man, this would be impressive.
