Ross Barkley

Ok I will tell you:

Ross Barkley is one of the most overrated players in the Premier league. If we swapped him out for someone who is actually effective and who works hard for 90 minutes, like, I don't know, Sigurdsson?
Agree, Ross is a decent player who can sometimes do the sublime but often makes poor decisions on pitch. This is his main problem. Would be a good squad player for us but not a starter by any means as we are looking to push on now and need someone who is class consistently. Would take 15-20 million gladly.

Ultimately I just can't see it working at this point.

He thrives on confidence and frankly because of the way things have gone he'll get dogs abuse if he is still here.

I'd love for him to finally turn that corner but the cards are stacked against him.

Mate, I promise you now, if he goes (I am not convinced)

I promise you: we will not miss him. At all
If he wasn't "a blue" we'd be nowhere near the current page count. It clouds peoples objectivity.

He should be so much more effective than he is with the tools he possesses, but I honestly don't think he has a top class football decision making ability. If (for example) he could think like Beardsley he'd be Ballon D'or candidate, unfortunately he's just a strong lad who occasionally scores great goals.

Honestly, he won't be missed as much as some fear.

Great shout.

Got to agree, I've always said if he let the ball go earlier he'd be brilliant.
He reminds me of a 12 year old with all the mums and dads watching on the sidelines and he tries to stand out.

Barkley has all the skill and tools to be top flight; too bad he doesn't seem to have the football mind to get the best out them.

On a different note. With all the speculation, about his future, swirling around, Barkey himself, hasn't made a peep. After the circus that was Lukaku, it's refreshing and professional.

The Everton youth setup drill it into the kids to hold the ball until there's a pass on, which Ross does tremendously well with his size/strength & a few tricks.

Lukaku's movement (25 goals or not) is abysmal. Abject as Lineker & Henry put it. Mirallas same.

He does need to sort his fitness & concentration levels, but increased competition should sort that.

Some of the sh1te on here is mind blowing. A few will eat their words this season. I hope he's still with us.

I hate to say but I suspect he's a party boy and only when he leaves us will the truth really come out.

I think that's why we aren't fussed about him leaving or wanting to commit to a massive contract for him.

That's my feelings also.. although I have nothing to base it on other than he's supposedly always in town... or ibiza... have a feeling he is the "big I am" and him getting knocked out after cheekily touching that guys chin after apparently trying to crack on with his bird ... would seem to confirm this..
