He doesn't get booed, but you can hear the groans and shouts when he picks the ball up if he's not playing well.

Some get frustrated because they care. They show angst and nervousness because Everton means a lot to them. I noticed on Sunday that when the pace picked up and the game was being played in the opposition half the atmosphere was more positive.

It's the way people are, it's the way people react.

This is why I'm not quite sure Martinez 'gets' the Goodison crowd. It's really easy to get them going, a big tackle, a poor referee decision, or a high tempo attacking game. If you can get any of them you'll have people up for it, if you can get all 3 you'll have Goodison rocking.

At the minute, people are anxious because every time we lose the ball the opposition look like scoring, and we're not winning games we'd expect to win.

Ross is a special player, it's mad though cos his ability is under appreciated by most. I think he needs the manager to get him more involved in parts of the game to really influence it and he'll kick on no end. I've said it before but he reminds me of Zidane, who didn't really start to hit the heights until he was 24/25. Ross doesn't have the ghetto background but he has that kind of ability.
