Ross Barkley

They can all be certain that he will definitely pick the most disjointed, conservative, negative, overhyped, overrated, past it, technically lacking side available to him.

Danny Murphy was talking about Hodgson the other day and said something along the lines, that he does think defensively or about the breakdown in play and that is why he had a go at Ross, when he lost the ball in the area that he did. But he also said that he wants his players up top to have the freedom to play and create chances. Hodgson is spoilt for chose with the top 4, Barkley, Alli, Sterling, Chamberlaine, Walcott and Hoddle's cheerleading for Lallana with Vardy, Rooney and Kane. I'm sure there are others. The pressure grows and grows to play Alli and Barkley - youngsters without fear. Hodgson is no fool and spent the last world cup playing to the crowd - that is the LFC dominated media - in the hope of not getting criticised too much - and it worked - to play Gerrard, Sterling, Henderson.

It would be a shame for other European fans not to see Barkley.

Yea it would be a shame but probably preferable to him being hung out to dry by the kopite media when hodgson flops. England for once have a decent amount of talent available but have an out of his depth idiot of a manager.

Ross's stats this season speak for them selves. Alli's? More minutes played ect..

For England fans it will be interesting to see what Hodgson does and who he plays.
Unfortunately im sceptical of anything interesting coming out of hodgson. Dier drinkwater defensive mid options then Barkley Ali with Rooney up top Walcott on the right & probably raheem left no one else really for me to challenge.

Instead we will be subjected to Kane shooting on first sight at every oppuritnuty with no awareness of others in better positions Rooney pigeon holed into the hole behind him & half fit Henderson & Wilshre bossing the midfield behind

I know what you mean the way Baines and Jags were hung out to dry to protect the real failures Gerrard and Henderson. But the clamour is the other way now - no one wants any LFC players in the team - apart from Hoddle's cheer leading of Lallana. Hodgson knows he will get crucified if he doesn't play Barkley and Alli. He knows how the media works.

Barkley's talent will shine through any attempt to blame him if it goes pear shaped. And it is that talent that will have the European football public talking about him.

I suppose the debate about the Euros will take place nearer the time. That said, Dier and Drinkwater would be a good shout as would Noble, IMO - all 3 head and shoulders above Henderson. Hodgson will probably go with some experience in the holding 2 - Milner or Carrick with probably Dier. Wilshere wont be back long enough to get match fit.

With a front 4 of Alli, Barkley Sterling and Rooney up top England supporters would be happy with that. But I feel it will be the defnce that lets England down.

Brakley strutting his stuff at the Euros would be the greatest advertisement for his talents and for us as a club.

I don't get the Hodgson hate. I don't really rate him, but to suggest he's been reluctant to give young players, or Everton players a fair crack of the whip is just nonsense.
Barkley has played loads for England, even when he was
dreadful last season.

Most mocked him for picking Vardy last year. He was quick to get Kane and Alli involved. Stones too. He hasn't actually done a lot wrong.

What ever u say Ross is the best player currently that has the ability to run at any player in Europe..lets back our diamond Ross

He is beginning to remind me more and more of a young Zidane. He has a really strong physical presence when in possession (although not interested in tackling) but has a really delicate touch and graceful movements, feints, dummies etc.
Not saying he will become that good but he is blossoming into something special in front of our very eyes. And in the same way that I used to disagree with those who called Sheedy a shithouse because he was not much of a tackler I prefer to focus on what he can do rather than what he can't....yet.
