Ross Barkley

Barkley also got an assist for passing the ball to Naismith 25 yards out to score vs Chelsea... and again when he gave the ball to lukaku on the touchline 40 yards from goal before he beat 5 players and the goalie against Chelsea ...so basically your aurgument against Henderson applies to Barkley too
Completely agree. But you said he passes it backwards all the time I said he doesn't which he doesn't & proved it with the stats.
Now we can discuss all day the merits of stats but surely you agree that passing it forwards or backwards requires little interpretation & he doesn't pass it backwards all game.
Plus can somebody tell every professional top flight club to stop spending millions on teams of analysts producing stats as people on forums think the professionals using stats to make decisions don't need them as stats don't tell them what they want or need to know.

He
i always fancied him as our stevie g sort of player... im just hoping hes a late developer!
He is a late developer in my opinion, he hasn't matured yet, I think it will be when he's 26/27 when he finally starts realising how good he is. This kid has the ability, no doubt, its transferring it on to the pitch consistently is the problem.

I honestly believe it will happen and he will still be here because nobody will buy him as he is currently. Only my opinion of course

Nothing ironic in it then. Jags is in because of the chronic lack of depth at centre half. Ross isn't in because his form hasn't been good enough.

And Southgate isn't a very good manager...

But okay.

In all honesty though yes, Barkley probably (on form) doesn't deserve a call up.

Then again, Wilshere has got in on the sole basis he's completed 90 minutes.

Since the last England fixtures Jagielka has sat on the bench for a game, been given the runaround in 2 games, and given 2 pens away in the other. How anyone can think that Southgate actually watches football matches baffles me.

Late developer, he will be retired and people will still be thinking one day he's going to come good. He hasn't got it if you can get £15 million in January, snatch their hand off. Hate to say this about a local lad but his awareness and reading of the game is non existent and never will be.

I don't think he's a naturally talented reader of the game, but to say he has none is strong.

He definitely needs to play alongside leaders and people who shout at him when we're on the back foot.

Not all players develop at the same time and Ross is obviously behind.

You simply cannot ignore that amount of natural ability. Any coach should be doing their best to fix or teach what's lacking because he's a match winner who needs to be allowed to play his own game.
