Watched the 20 min highlights of the game and Ross looked very assured. Very unlucky not to score and was central to things when England went forward and looked dangerous.

Can you link me up in some way then? I missed all kinds of games today on purpose more or less.

I thought he looked very good last night, but every time i watch him i always feel he has another 20% in him. I dont know if it is his relaxed style or his ability allows him to coast through games.

I agree, but to take a 20 year old to the World Cup after he'd had what I would say was a decent season (some excellent performances, some pretty poor) and then keep him in the team throughout a generally poor season, shows that hodgson has much more faith in him than most managers would.

Yeah he talks him down but sometimes I think that's important. He gets a lot of carrot at everton and sometimes the odd stick is no bad thing.

To be clear, I think hodgson is a dinosaur in general terms, but I don't agree with the idea he gives Ross a raw deal.

Agree with the bit about keeping him in the side but no, the knocking of his confidence will never help a flair player at that age. If you play him you must allow him the chance to create and that includes losing the ball at times ( as long as he isn't attempting something ridiculous around our 18 yard box etc.)
