I wouldn't even do that. If he is still here after the transfer window is shut but refusing to sign then the he should be told to stay away from the club altogether. Pay him to stay at home and rot and not even play for the U23's, it'll cost him a whole year with zero game time at any level and could effectively ruin him. This is a last resort obviously as if the window did shut with him still here then surely even Ross wouldn't be stupid enough to refuse a new deal at that stage.

Pay a talented footballer to stay at home? Are you for real? If we're paying him regardless we may aswell pay him to play than to stay at home.

If he's still refusing to sign a new deal after the transfer window shuts then yes. I don't want people playing for us who want out like that, least of all people looking to stab the club in the back.

There is no way he faces 40,000 Everton fans each week until next year with them all knowing he wants to leave and getting on his back.

If he doesnt move the I reckon he 100% signs a new deal.

You don't play a footballer to stay at home he's got a year left so you pay him to play then after his contract is up he can go. ( if he's not signed obvs )

What type of example would that set? It would be open season for the players then who would know that they can stab the club in the back and face zero repercussions.

He's not stabbing the club in the back. He and the club jointly agreed he would work for the club for a certain time period, for a certain amount of money.

He hasnt reneged on that, and as far as I know he isnt acting up, causing problems in the dressing room or threatening strike action.....perhaps itk posters know otherwise.

Stop pretending playing for Everton isn't a job.

He's been offered a contact and if he hasn't signed it and he's still here - he plays when fit koemans words mate
I'll believe it when I see it mate. As I said if he hasn't left by the end of this window then he'll no doubt sign a new deal and try to smooth things over but if he still won't sign I doubt we'll see him play for the first team again.

If he's here and he's signed or not he will still play mate why can't you see that? Why would we not play him whilst we have him.

Leave him alone. In his world football clubs have backs. Probably hairy backs....who knows. And footballers wield massive knives and prowl the league attempting to plunge their icy daggers into the hairy backs of unsuspecting clubs.

A lot of our games are pretty dull nowadays, so I don't blame this poster retreating into an alternative fantasy football universe.

He's been offered a brilliant deal and would be running it down knowing it leaves the club with nothing. Bizarre actions from an alleged boyhood blue.

Not at all, I just find it bizzare that a supposed boyhood blue would go out of his way to see the club end up with nothing.
