2017/18 Ross Barkley

Again, Chelsea can blow Spurs out the water financially in every regard.

There's no financial incentive for Barkley choosing Spurs over Chelsea.

If he's a free agent maybe Spurs are willing to pay a larger portion of the £35-40 mill they have saved on a fee, we just dont know.

I still want you here lad, and when you decide to tell us all what has been going on since Koeman chose to ridicule you in
the papers and on 'Sky', then and only then will I agree or disagree with the route you have taken. You do seem to have
upset our new money leader (First time I've heard him speak) don't worry about him, he knows as much as Koeman.
Moshiri mentioned the No. 10 position being over-loaded, let me tell Koeman & Moshiri that Klaassen isn't even a 4.5,
Rooney will play anywhere and everywhere that he is needed, that leaves Gylfi, who may and may-not be our saviour, but
he can get injured and leave us light in that No. 10 position. Ross, you owe us nothing, and most of all you owe Koeman &
Moshiri even less. I sincerely hope that you turn it round one way or another, preferably to us. Good luck son!

I'm not saying that. It's a possibility, but no more so than the possibility that he just wants an open market war for a high signing on fee. I don't think he's been tapped up by any specific club - if anything, I think he and his agent have decided the big payday is there, but Chelsea came knocking this summer and they feared that they had played their hand too early and considered getting out now. Then got cold feet and went back to Plan A.

Either is possible.

Do you think we should help him keep fit and in pristine condition before he goes then..........

I reckon this may have something to do with the Moshiri/Usmanov connections with Russia/Abramovich. Chelsea wanted him and where they are friendly with Chelsea it was easy to just refuse to allow us to bid so Barkley didn't have the choice.
If thats is the case why isnt Lukaku at Chelsea?

We have been played here, Spurs know he wants to go there, so do Everton. bet they have put a low bid in knowing that Barkley was set on joining them.
He cant play and will be fit only in time for the next transfer window, so only has to sit tight.
Spurs can get him for a knockdown price, he gets to go to the club he wants , gets a bigger signing on fee and we pick his wages up and costs to get him fit enough to play for them.
Made to look like armatures here by spurs and Barkley's agent. expect to here rumours of a new contract to keep the heat off him.

More like Chelsea offer 35m and Levy offered 20m knowing full well that Barkley had already agreed to join them. Everton tell Levy to do one we are not talking to you.

What terms? Mate, you aren't making sense - if he'd have been 'tapped up', Spurs would know he was 'their man' regardless.

"Spurs can get him cheaper"... well, obviously, but again, that would have been the case when he was tapped up. There would be no reason for him to entertain Chelsea at all if that were the case - tonight simply doesn't happen if the plan all along was for Spurs to nab him in January.
If he'd have been dead set on Spurs he'd have just rejected the move point blank and insisted it had to be Spurs.

Not travelled down there, agreed terms and then legged it.
