We have been played here, Spurs know he wants to go there, so do Everton. bet they have put a low bid in knowing that Barkley was set on joining them.
He cant play and will be fit only in time for the next transfer window, so only has to sit tight.
Spurs can get him for a knockdown price, he gets to go to the club he wants , gets a bigger signing on fee and we pick his wages up and costs to get him fit enough to play for them.

Bottom line for me is .... he's got a week to sign a longer term deal to solidify the clubs position.... IF not ....Niasse treatment ... no locker / take his squad # away / train on your own .... as for Jan .... More chance of playing ? Been sold on the project ? Chance to play alongside England regulars thus increasing his chances of international selection ? Chelsea are a horrible club with horrible fans ?

I reckon this may have something to do with the Moshiri/Usmanov connections with Russia/Abramovich. Chelsea wanted him and where they are friendly with Chelsea it was easy to just refuse to allow us to bid so Barkley didn't have the choice.

If thats is the case why isnt Lukaku at Chelsea?

Well I think there's more to it. We bought Aurier today but this morning there were reports in France that Chelsea went to PSG to put in a late bid when they heard we got a work permit for him only to find that Levy had negotiated an exclusivity clause with PSG so Chelsea couldn't even bid.

My theory is Chelsea went right to Everton and did the same thing with Barkley.

He agreed terms and travelled down there, which sort of kills that conspiracy theory. If he wanted Spurs he says no to Chelsea while he's sat at home
