I reckon this may have something to do with the Moshiri/Usmanov connections with Russia/Abramovich. Chelsea wanted him and where they are friendly with Chelsea it was easy to just refuse to allow us to bid so Barkley didn't have the choice.

Far more likely we didn't allow him to negotiate with you because Levy played hardball and refused to match Chelsea's offer imo, sometimes that works and sometimes it backfires

Chelsea are a far more successful club. He would have got game time at Chelsea. Chelsea players get plenty of opportunities with England. I imagine they pay bigger wages too.

The lad is an absolute disgrace.

Everton are the team that discovered him, nurtured him and stuck by him during that leg break as a kid.

He'd be nothing without us.

His Agent (Paul Martin) has some form when it comes to former Everton players, including Rodwell and Stones. Apparently guides the career of Ross.

Maybe, just maybe, Ross has decided whats best rather than his agent.
