Maybe it's me with my blue tinted specs on, but I literally cannot fathom screwing over the team i've supported since birth practically, making sure I run down my contract and leave for free.
I totally understand he seems to have irreparable differences with Koeman, and wants to go somewhere else, but surely if I was in that situation I would sign the contract regardless, just so the club gets a respectable fee. If I remember correctly Yarmelenko did the same thing a few seasons ago (even though he didn't leave then) just to make sure he wasn't leaving Kyiv high and dry.
But maybe once footballers get that sort of wage loyalty goes out the window, and its simply a greed for more.
I want him to stay and I want him to be good, but I genuinly think with a large portion of fans now, it's past the point of no return.
