..i’d agree to that if he made a difference. To be honest, i’m not sure he would and i’m also wary of players who’ve had a serious hamstring injury.
New manager comes in and tells him he'll build a team around him etc.

He'll stay. He just needs reassurance he isn't going to end up with another balloon like Koeman.

..I really doubt that. He’s a great age for a Bosman (or a January move). I understand young Barkley knows the value of a £, there’s a very lucrative pay day around the corner as well as the potential of an attractive playing proposition. I might be wrong but I don’t get the romanticism of the boyhood blue.

I’d like him to re-sign but I think his mind is very much made up.

How many teams have played with a false nine?

Barkley coming back again can see us spark to life.

Trouble is he's not back until Xmas.. and then.. assuming he doesn't break down again... he will still take a month or maybe more to get match fit and sharpness back... we could basically be relegated by then

...someone will be right!

Not a chance he will play for us again. He already had huge expectations on his shoulders but if he came back he’d have to deal with the hatred from certain sections and would be expected to singlehandedly turn us around by some. What’s the point when he can go to a proper footballing side with his England pals with much less pressure?

Plus he's absolute crap. Right?

Or is this a case of absence makes the heart grow fonder?

Think he would have stayed if Rom had, perhaps they saw how dreadful we really were under the cracks

Surely, if they truly believed we would hit the next level they’d have both stayed...

He's definitely gone barring us signing some god tier manager which obviously won't happen.

There is no real positive to staying at Everton anymore, we are a club on a sharp decline meanwhile the club who want him just tonked real madrid 3-0 with just about ever English player they have making the national squad.

The only reason to stay at Everton is sentiment and making career decisions based purely on that is nearly always a terrible idea.
