Absolutely right. WE, didn't let it happen. If a player wants to stay, he stays, no problem. If he wants to go, he goes. Nothing WE can do about it other than negotiate the transition.

..I think it’s easier to not consider him as part of Everton. I can’t see him signing a new contract, so the only way he’ll play is if he or the club run down his existing contract.

If, and that's a very big if, his wanting away was down to Fathead, you'd think that would have found its way into the public domain by now. The silence is deafening.
