He’d have seen the season out for Unsworth but not for Sam, can’t blame him really.
No chance to Of an England call up playing for Sam, has more of a chance moving on.

So he doesn’t want to play for Koeman, or Sam? Jesus wept. Thank god the club are not pandering to this absolute waste of human skin.

Why would that be the easy way out ? He could easily just stay in his comfort zone and take the huge contract and be loved by his own fans. that to me is a lot easier than moving away from where you’ve lived your entire life and going and working for a bigger company whilst competing and testing yourself at a higher level. Plus moving away will make him a hate figure at Everton...

Its definitely easier to stay at Everton imo

You don’t know that, it’s based on rumours. I see just as many people saying all the talk about him wanting to leave for social life reasons are BS. Truth is no one has a clue about that side of things apart from Barkley and those close to him. What can be proven though is that he has stagnated at Everton from a football perspective.

With regard to Spurs, they are vastly more likely to win something than we are, plus they play in champs league and near enough all their English players get picked for England. It’s very easy to see why they an attractive option for him.... all you need to do is take the blue goggles off for a second.

I think it’s safe to say just about every player in the world would pick them over us at the moment.

Don't think Rooney would have chosen them over us tbh

I think. sadly, he's been forced to the door and there's no will to persuade him back from going through it.

I expect his fee is factored into the new manager's kitty for January.

What a shambles. I dont know of any other club like this that loses its very best so regularly, either by pushing them away or being cherry picked.

Why is it you can think of every scenario about why ross is leaving , apart from the most likely one... he wants out ... boy koeman , not the fans, not losing his England place... maybe he just wants more money . Maybe he doesn't care about EFC. Maybe being a millionaire and going out and slaying birds is more fun than football now. He's not been forced to the door IMO and the club will obviously do anything to get him to sign, even if it's just for financial reasons. He could sign a one year deal so we would get a fee couldn't he? Plenty of players have done this in the past for clubs. He wants to leave on a free and get more money and that's it IMO

Off that press conference today I'd say he's not going to be offered much encouragement to stay.

That's down to Koeman though not Allardyce.

He's an exciting player and it's a massive shame we cant keep hold of players like him and Deulofeu and Lukaku. We've deteriorated from a few seasons back, no question. We had a flash of arrogance and style back then with them in their pomp, now we look like dullards....goodness knows how bad we'll be after SA.

No encouragement to stay? Sam said there is only so much a club can do... that suggests that everything that can be done has been and he still wants to go.

I can't believe he's going to get a good enough run of games at THFC to get in the England team. He'll be competing with Erikssen, Delle Ali, Son and Lamela, I think?, depending on the formation, and all of them want to get in the World Cup.
He should take the easy option, stay at Everton, write off the world cup, aim for Euros in 2020 and WC in 2022, he'll still be well under 30 yrs old.

Yup, this rat of the highest order is fleecing the club so we don’t even get a fee for him by the looks of it. All because of a personal spat it seems, or alternatively because he in the words of some “has to get out of town”.

Still, some on here feel sorry for him, absolutely baffling.

Bottom line, any quality we've had in the last 7 years have just gone and jumped ship as we fluctuate between mediocre, best of the rest, or lower half of the table.

To think we had a side with players that are now at City, United, Barcelona, and maybe Chelsea and Spurs, while we throw millions at players from Burnley, Villa, and Swansea.

I still don't understand why players can be tapped legally. The only way you can legally tap a player is to tap some tune on the press, and vice versa.

He is contracted with Everton; Unless he is going on a Bosman the only way he should only be contacted for football matters is through Everton. Any other adventure should simply be sent to the CAS.

England training sessions mate..

Seeing them interviews with lampard and Ferdinand and they were saying the clubs had their different tables when they're away... all Man U players on one table Chelsea players on another etc... must get lonely being and Everton player on international duty.. eating you sandwhiches out side alone .. then ali and walker etx ask you to sit on their table and presto... he's going to Spurs

Honestly, what would we REALLY get if Barkley leaves? I'd bench him out of spite but that might explain why I'm not a billionaire.

A player like Baines who goes stabbing managers behind their back in the media then limps out of games they dont fancy standing up in to dig the team out are treated like heroes while Barkley - who does more for the club on the pitch than just about anyone else in the squad - is thrown to the wolves.

He was happy enough before Koeman and Moshiri tipped up. They are responsible for the lad wanting out...if, indeed, that is what he wants.
