2017/18 Ross Barkley

He isn't the first academy player who filled us with hope of great potential then soon f***ed us off and he certainly won't be the last.

If he comes back from this hamstring injury the same player or better i'd be surprised!

He walks in the squads....its a squad game.

He will beleive he has the ability to play more than not, as do all players. Thats the ambition.
Hang on mate, mixed messages are being sent out about Ross and his move. On the one hand we are being told he wants a move because of tyrant managers and wicked slave driving fans sapping away the poor lads confidence. Then we get told that he has such confidence in his ability that he thinks he can break into the Spurs or Chelsea first team or at least be a key component of their side. Well it can't be both! If it's the latter then I for one applaud Barkley for his ambition even if I think he's deluded to a frightening level.

....you’d expect if a transfer was happening it would be early in the window. I expect his agent has been talking with interested clubs and Everton’s January valuation is known. The longer this goes on, the more likely he’s running his contract down for a lucrative Bosman.

I can only see two possible outcomes, he moves in January or goes on a Bosman in the summer.
Yep. Those are the two outcomes you'd expect. The latter of which will be even more toxic if he happens to step out on to Goodison Park towards the end of the season.
Always wanted him to stay, and wouldn't want to see that. Plus, he really got on my nerves when he did what he did on the last day of the summer window. Its all about getting as much money as he can get. Agent has obviously played a big part in driving this too. And, if he doesn't go in January then so much for 'world cup ambitions'.
PS. If he decides to run his contract right down, I wouldn't play him unless its absolutely vital to us.

Good luck in London, Ross.
The haters on here will have finally got their way.
Well done lads.
Just my opinion mate, but if its really the case that the 30 or 40 'haters' on an internet forum plus a few hundred fans at Goodison Park on match days have in any way influenced Ross leaving Everton under these circumstances, I'd be gobsmacked.
He's a grown man with professional advisers.

It can be neither, as all what you have posted is us fans speculating.

He will have confidence in his ability, that is for sure.

Ah well, at least you've got what you wanted.
Happy New Year.

I'm NEA, more than Stones or Lukaku this lad leaving will hurt me the most and I won't forgive him until he pulls a Rooney and Bill brings him back for a two year swan song.

I'm sick of watching players who claim to be blues who can't wait to get out of the club at the first opportunity to follow a pay packet and to win trophies elsewhere rather than applying their talents for our benefit.

He deserves every bit of vitriol imo.

If he can't hack the pressure at Everton, good luck to him at sides expected to challenge Man City.

I like him as a player, think he could work on his game and become really important to us if he had the will, it's the will that I don't think he has.

We need him
Yeah we do, yet he doesn't care and wants to leave anyway so whats next? Are we supposed to publically beg the lad to stay or curl up in a fetal position about It? We've done all we can at this stage and it's not been enough to get him to stay. Nobody at this club wants the lad to leave other then Ross and his agent. No point crying over spilt milk now.
