Lads, seriously.

Get a grip. Its a career to him at the end of the day.

Should we fume about Siggy because he refused to go on the Swansea preseason tour and showed disrespect to that club and its supporters.

Ross has said nothing, acted with dignity when Koeman was mouthing off in the press.

one of our own, who has done all he can to shaft the club that supported him. dishonest, underhand, disrespectful, yet still some have their heads in his arse

absolute rat of the highest order

utter dog of a human

BUT BUT HE GOT BOOED BY A FEW FANS. hope he fails wherever he goes and ends up somewhere like Newcastle. thick [Poor language removed]

You dont know anything about what's gone on. I dont either.

What i do know for certain is that we had a player settled and playing well and then he was hounded by a manager and then thrown to the media wolves by an owner. 12 months of that and he'd had enough.

If Unsworth or some other manager had been installed post-Dutch tit then maybe there'd have been a will and a way back.

This is overwhelmingly a situation of the club's making.

How on earth can anyone following the shenanigans of this club for the last two decades not see that this Barkley saga is typical of the way it positions players to be the scapegoats?

It's unreal. It's like there's a collective amnesia about the way the club shafts fans and players and comes away each time with a clean pair of hands. The chimps in the local and national media help them out in that respect and many fans gobble their BS up and regurgitate it on forums like this.

He is a rat and only concerned about making as much money as possible.

Which is why he turned down Chelsea last summer to more than likely except a lower wage at Spurs.

Instead of berating the player we need to look at the Everton hierarchy and question why we can't keep hold of our young talented players.

And apparently "the rat" would only get the chance of going to a club like Stoke or Swansea or Newcastle. Another one the clever people got wrong.

Because he was openly scapegoated on numerous occasion by Koeman and was not offered a new contract until late last season. Then the rumours were the contract wasn't what he was expecting given the next wave of obscene money to the league. After that he was openly criticised by Moshiri to deflect from his own lack of ambition and support for the previous manager. Not buying another forward or the defender Koeman often spoke of was criminal. Particularly the former.

Whilst Barkley may have had his head turned at some point (they all do), the club have messed this up and are now looking for ways to appease the fans by blaming the player. Most of you lap it up too.

Koeman answered questions honestly when the press was asking about Ross. He wasn't "scapegoated", he was criticized for the effort he was putting in which since Koeman is his boss and Barkley works in the view of the public eye he was not out of order for doing.

It isn't like Koeman was phoning up Journos and complaining about Ross, he was asked questions and he answered them with his opinion.

Rumors being he wasn't offered what he was expecting are only rumors as far as I know but we do know for a fact that Koeman said we offered him essentially the best contract in the history of our club.

He wasn't "openly criticized" by Moshiri, not at all. Can you point out the criticism here:

“The two clubs agreed a deal of £35m, I think personal terms were agreed and, after the medical, we heard from Paul Martin, his agent, that he [Barkley] had changed his mind,” said the Everton majority shareholder, Farhad Moshiri. “He wants to reconsider his position during the January window. He is injured, so I think technically he will be with us because he is under contract for another year. It is a big surprise, but that is football.”

Not buying a forward or a defender has absolutely nothing to do with Barkley being a rat.

Some of you live in another world, honestly.

Would Barkley be leaving if Koeman hadn't have pushed him to the door last season with the owner's blessing?

There's no way back for Barkley because the owner decrees it. Moshiri after the Chelsea "deal" collapse: "technically he will still be an Everton player".

Technically.

What a 'kin disgraceful comment...and that after he repeated the falsehood that Barkley and his agent had been at Chelsea that day undergoing a medical. A liar as well as a grossly incompetent head of a football club.
He'd already made it abundantly clear he wasn't going to sign for us at this point. "Technically" describes the situation perfectly.

Why would ANYONE who isn’t from some foreign league, or in danger of relegation possibly want to play for Everton? Look at the absolute state of the club.

Allardyce as manager, a back room set up that the 70’s wouldn’t want and an owner who gets held to ransom by gash teams over bang average players who turn out to be disasters.

We haven’t been going anywhere for absolutely years and now it looks like other “lesser teams” in the league have a far better vision including ones coming up from the championship.

Frankly it’s our own fault and I do not blame him.

So we sold Stones for 47.5M, making him the most expensive defensive player in the history of mankind. We then sold Lukaku for 100M (including the 10M for Rooney), making him the 6th largest transfer of all time (and top 10 for certain). I'm going to assume Delboy's inclusion was a typo as he only played at Barca due to injuries, never played a whole game, and isn't particularly good.

The issue isn't that we sold them, it's what we have to show for it. With Ross/Stones/Lukaku, we finished 5th, 11th, and 11th. Without Stones we were 7th. We did not win any trophies. Without any of them, we are currently 9th.

Ross has talent and would I think work very well on this team. I agree with a previous poster about how much better he'd be with better skilled players around him - think the passing of Rooney and Siggy around him - but he's still not that good. Can't tackle or track back well enough to be a 6, won't take guys on enough to play as a 7 or 11, and makes too many bad decisions to be a primary 10. He has the ability to play all those positions, but not sure he'll ever put it together.

The problem is that we aren't even getting 35M for him, even though he would've been worth probably 50M if the contract stalemate wasn't so well known.

Spot on. The team is a shambles and the manager and first team staff are 80s throw backs.
