Personally, I've stated numerous times that I don't feel that Ross has fully proven himself here, or at least not to an extent people imagined.Ross hasn't proved (yet) he can do it anywhere else, still less for a club where he isn't 'revered' as a blue, not treated as top dog, and out of his comfort zone. Lukaku and Stones just outgrew us, in terms of our current situation and trajectory.
Yes he's shown periods where his quality has shone through, nevertheless let's not ignore the numerous times where he disappeared in games.
Would he improve our team now? Of course he certainly would, however I feel that his time on the sidelines has papered over the reality of it all.
Possibly the removed responsibility and pressures placed upon his shoulders, mainly from our expectations, will help Ross eventually thrive.
On the other hand, it's also fair to say that the expectations at Chelsea to perform consistently will be higher - maybe he'll sink. Who knows...
