Because signing Barkley for £15m is basically free money. No matter what happens, if he's on a decent contract his value will always be at least £30m unless he becomes a crock.

The atmosphere at Manure wasn't simply subdued and quiet but sterile and bordering on silence; I even remarked to the people near me.

There were times of loudness and excitement but they were few and far between, and there certainly weren't any mass angry groans or shouting.

Frustrations came out but in no way like you're implying. What I would bear in mind is that microphones can 'selectively' pick up localised noise.

How many times have Sky increased the volume of away fans? Or increased it during when that shower sing YNWA or other such fans?

I'm sorry but the sound on a stream does not always give a generalised, accurate portrayal of the fans - it certainly hasn't here in the slightest.

Part of me is glad it nearly over, the judas rat. Clearly done to do us over and make more for himself, if he had ended up at Spurs I could have understood pulling out of the deal on deadline day but to go back now for around half the price is unforgivable. I hope he enjoys the bench at Chelsea as he won't get much playing time ahead of Hazard and Fabregas as he isn't fit to lace their boots.
