He was a really bright prospect in the first season under Martinez. He dipped after that and I think Roy hodgson had a lot to answer for, singling him out for decision making when he was one of the brightest talents in the team.
After that his performances dropped off.
He certainly improved last year, but Southgate carried on wher Roy left off.
I can't help that the position we are in is as much to do with his England career and going to the World Cup. If he moves to Spurs for a big fee, the press will kick up a huge fuss if he isnt selected.

Utter garbage last season he looks better than what we have now apart from tom davies as an attacking playmaker, the biggest blow is he and Lukaku were are most needed players!

50 million oir 45 million he is over priced we will end up selling Lukaku and Barkley under priced!

Think that's the gamble Joey, if he helps steer us into the champions league then it will be money well spent, if it's £50m just to help us consolidate 7th, well................................

well he should have been sold then for a higher value and replaced cheaper than 50 million for a 28 year old!

Yes, and they were a pub team compared to us, so the fact we struggled was embarrassing. As I said, we didn't cruise - we struggled. Because the balance of our side is miles off because we don't have a link between midfield and attack.

I never disagreed with the fact that we struggled offensively, but certainly not defensively. I disagreed with "and still managed to actually create the clearer cut chances over two legs" which just wasnt the case.

What about the sell on value of all the youth players we've bought though, as well as Keane, Pickford, Sandro and Onyekuru? Do you reckon that could negate it Joey?

Thing is Joey we are buying him as a football player, not commodity to make money away from the pitch.

With the amount of money coming into the game now I dont think we have to worry so much about this sell on fee anymore. Few years ago it was a big deal for everyone, not just clubs who were in a mess like we find ourselves, but going forward we should just worry about what he can do on the pitch that we are missing.

Yes but the outgoing player is 23 if it's like for like we won't get 45-50 million for Ross with the reasons of the club not letting his contract run down !

I agree. Lukaku is a massive loss and people have not realised how much we will miss his goal return.
