Royston Drenthe

Drenthe will play on the right once Donovan goes back to LA. Drenthe's best position is on the right as he can attack and cut in on his favoured foot. Since Donovan has been here he hasn't been able to do that, i'm suprised we haven't seen them swap flanks now and again in the game. Don't think he's even had a shot on goal since Donovan has been here either. I don't think he likes or is suited on the left, having Pienaar back playing on the left and when Donovan goes Drenthe will be playing on the right. I could see us being exciting if that happens, no disrespect to Donovan as he is ace and love the fella but Drenthe will show his best once Landon goes.
Oh and hopefully Hibbo keeps his place as RB, Neville stays off the pitch coz all he'll do is hoof.
In the summer i really hope we invest in a new attacking RB and maybe a creative midfield player, imagine us then! Neville to retire woooooooop wooooop :D

In all honesty, it'll be interesting to see what Moyes does once Landon goes. Haven't a clue who will be played out there since Roy can't get time.

Vic? Osman? Coleman when he's finally healthy?????? Heaven forbid, Rodwell?!?!?!?

Vic- Moyes will want to keep playing him as reward for his goals and it won't be in place of Jelavic or Pienaar.
Osman- A Moyes favourite. Right midfield is just about the only place open to him.
Coleman- Davey's default right winger.
Rodwell- I think he's going to want to keep Gibson in. Unless they rotate, Jack might have to come in on the right.

Chances for Drenthe are looking slim once injuries settle down. Even if Pienaar gets sidelined, he'd have to fight Gueye for the shirt plus anyone who can't get a game on the right.

Sadly, all that above is likely to happen, we all know it too, Moyes is too damn predictable, pee's me right off

I think Moyes will go for him, he might mess him around a bit but once Donovan leave I expect him to come into the team on a regular basis. Thomas Gravesen was a similar type of character, and Moyes brought him back for a second spell. It's just too big an oppurtunity to miss out on, I don't Moyes isn't that stupid.

I think it'll be more down to whether Royston wants to stay or not. He's good enough to play for a better team than us and I'm sure there will be a few clubs sniffing around him.

Glad to know someone else is freaked out by this. I was so so so grateful to see Pienaar have a good game today because at least he and Baines can storm the castle from Mar - May + FA Cup.

Course, anyone playing us can just focus on our left side starting March 1st.

Seems Pienaar is cup tied. Wont play at our place vs spurs either.

Play Drenthe off foward he would run riot,Moyes wont though aswe know, should get Drenthe signed asap i reckon.

Karel Poborsky wouldn't work back either - for a time he was dynamite, going forward he was in his element, but slowly teams picked up on him not covering his defender and he had to be moved on.

Football is littered with irreplaceable widemen. Drenthe bucks his ideas up or doesn't get a contract. We do not have enough margin in the side for a luxury player - we are hard work - graft and grim determination. When we fire we put on a show. We are lucky to fire one game in four.

Luxury he may be but he is very effective, crowd pep up if he comes on just needs arm around him to feel loved and wanted,Moyes cant do that though imo.

You're right of course. I think people are just so starved of excitement we're desperate for a bit of flair.

If you are an out and out winger and can't defend properly then you have to be very special indeed. Plus have teammates who are willing and able to take the extra strain. Limpar for example.
