So OK in your eyes you believe it is OK to still accept this type of money

If Moshiri sells us it'll likely be to some businessman from Eastern Europe, Middle East or Asia and many of the mega wealthy multi billionaires from those parts of the world have made their money from less than liberal means.

Or we could be lucky and get bought out by some Yank Hedge Fund who are squeaky clean (if you dont include Tax evasion, donations to dodgy political parties and/or links to funding terrorism) and bleed us dry as an investment to make a return on.

Some very good points being made on here, and I agree with a lot of them. But for me personally it might be time to find a different hobby or a smaller club to support if we don't at the very least sever ties with Usamov, USM and MegaFon. To the point made above, though, we may find out that it's impossible for Moshiri to sever those ties due to how much of his finances are propped up by Usamov. At a time where I want nothing more than to be engrossed in football to distract from the anxiety of a world order teetering on the brink, it's impossible because it doesn't work like that.

Just because there are other, worse owners and sponsors in football does not make our associations acceptable. It never had to be this way. Not to say that another alternative would necessarily be better, but Moshiri's ownership has turned into a nightmare for this club in a lot of ways.

Are Saudi Arabia not a problem right now? Have they suddenly started to lay off the Yemeni people after literally starving them to death for seven years?

In truth, the atrocities in Yemen are far worse than what has happened in Ukraine, it’s just that the Western media can’t be bothered to whip you up into a frenzy about it. It’s not considered newsworthy, mainly because westerners aren’t arsed as much, which is probably understandable because Ukraine is much closer than Yemen.
Nah lad they let ladies drive now days, we've modernized them, they only chop heads off the wronguns and our military (Uk) advise them on their military operations so all is good in the world.

Some yank company who probably donate more to parties whove started more wars than anyone.

And what do you propose we do about all that? you utter moron. Everton can't fix the worlds woes, but we can at least show our support for the WAR THAT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW, by dumping those sponsors. The entire world is being threatened with annihilation, you fool!.. Saudi Arabia is not the problem RIGHT NOW!
I should probably lay off you a bit, as you're clearly a 10 year old child with severe problems.

How is Saudi Arabia not the problem right now? I would say it was a pretty bit problem to the people of Yemen, or indeed it's own people.

All the daft mushrooms in football media / on here moaning about USM sponsering us whilst they plan to watch a Qatari world cup in stadiums built by slaves, watching Newcastle spend Saudi blood money from owners that still stone gays to death and gush over a Manchester City team built on the riches of the corrupt UAE Royal Families.

Koff with the virtue signalling.

Usmanov is alright in my book - not his fault Putin is carrying on like a mad man.

I hate the phrase virtue signalling, but its hard to see it as anything other than that in this instance.

I'd love to know how many of the Ukraine flag wavers were saying anything about Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, Somalia etc 3 weeks ago. I was mentioning all of the above.

I've been called every name under the sun for saying things a lot less radical about the same sorts of people in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen etc than what people have said about the people of Ukraine.

Theres a lot of rank hypocrisy that goes on. It may be a coincidence but for lots of people, they seem to view white people and brown people being attacked differently.

The whole of football is corrupt and mired in dirty cash. I cant think of one owner, who are not from a country that have declared a war on another. Either clear the whole game up or none.

You wouldn't punish all Jewish people because Israel did something bad. It's bordering on persecution now with some of these rich Russians as if they've got anything to do with Putin's actions in Ukraine.

It's also desperate. Everton are just caught in the crossfire of politics.
You know who else are caught in a crossfire gaz. Innocent Ukrainians. Sheltering from artillery made from USM’s finest steel.

You are right. The hypocrisy is sickening. But events, dear boy, events.

I would not discount in the future a greater scrutiny on football finance and a greater moral pressure coming to bear on clubs, but that is probably some time off if at all.

It has nothing to do with Everton this. We just grabbed whatever cash was on offer and nobody anywhere can claim the moral high ground. It's the wild west out there.

But things have been overtaken by something that nobody would have predicted. Every single Russia expert I have tracked for months on end said Putin would stop well short of a full invasion. He didn't and is since threatening escalation on one side and use of nuclear weapons on the other. This is the greatest crisis since WWII in Europe in political and security terms.

It's more than unfortunate that diabolical human rights abuses elsewhere do not incur the same ire but that's the way it is.

Firstly Dave, it's not as if Usmanov would ever have sunk anything remotely close to £14B into Everton, so realistically the new owner won't need quite that much to complete a deal.

And secondly, as I've previously stated I remain very confident that when Moshiri decides to sell - as his links to USM and all the sanctions will, I feel sure, almost certainly force him to strongly consider and extremely seriously - a more than suitably heeled and willing purchaser will be found.

Furthermore, as it will be Moshiri selling and not the current Chairman, no new owner would be as daft as Moshiri was to do a deal that meant the current Chairman not only benefitted enormously financially from the sale of the majority of his shareholding AND remained in situ in the Chair.

I'll concede that it's not the best way it could have happened but for me, it'll be a win-win - new ownership and a completely new Board of Directors... new money, new ideas, a true new beginning.

And forgive me for saying this but, as someone who labelled Moshiri little more than a carpetbagger when he first arrived and for a long time afterwards, I would have thought that you for one would welcome his (hopefully soon) departure and arrival of new money, new BoD and new ideas ?

Come on mate let's be realistic. What right minded investor is going to want to take over a team in the relegation zone, who are hundreds of millions in debt and not to mention they will need to take on a new stadium and all the costs incurred with that.

It just doesn't seem realistic to me. Everton would be the least attractive option to any investor right now in the top 3 divisions. We can't even buy players because we are on the brink of ffp.

Well seems to be some positive news from the BBC tonight.

China could be pulling away from Russia, seems the West uniting has spooked them, the speed at which it happened to ruin Russia economically has them fearing it could happen to them down the line.

Taiwan and the countries near the South China sea will be happy if this is the case.

Matt Law also Tweeting tonight that Abramovich will be getting offers to buy Chelsea later this week.

Looks like another petro dollar country, or the Ineos owner who failed a few years ago to buy Chelsea.
