Are we in trouble?

If he or Moshiri have anything to do with the Putin regime during this period of time then I’d rather we just go without. It’s only football after all:
I dunno - imagine we were able to nuke Wembley during a Liverpool/Man City cup final!

I know it seems inappropriate to be concerned about our beloved team at a time like this, but this is a football forum so here goes…

We are in big trouble. Usmanov has just been sanctioned by the EU and it looks like the UK Government will soon sanction Usmanov also. And Moshiri’s wealth is all tied up in a Russian firm…

Some are saying “Well we wouldn’t be any worse off without them.”

We have a stadium that in a couple of years’ time probably won’t be able to get its safety certificate and we have an exorbitant wage bill. Also, if we’re this bad WITH their money then how bad are we going to be without it?

Yes, Chelsea will be fine. We, meanwhile, will become the next Derby, only worse. The bigger they are, the harder they fall - and we are as obese as Mr Usmanov.
Chelsea will be fine because they’re a global brand who are winning major trophies like the European Cup left, right and centre. They sell tens of millions of shirts each year and are probably self-sustaining now.

But us? I fear for us.

Then we have no future quite frankly.

Our income is dwarfed by the big clubs and we are not marketable enough to get good sponsership deals legitimately.

No sponser deals = no way around FFP.
A future isn't merely keeping up with the "big boys".

We will not stop existing.
If we have only small amounts of money to spend on players how will we be able to maintain our current top-flight status?

The frustration from fans at present is the "what if" factor of us having spent so much to fail so spectacularly.

Losing financial muscle basically takes us back to the Kenwright days without a Moyes magician in the dugout having us fight for europe on a shoestring budget.

If we lose our USM dough we're basically another Crystal Palace type outfit hoping for a solid 10th-12th place finish every season at best.
You’re being way too optimistic.

Since Moyes used to miraculously get us 6th or 7th on a shoestring (and he rightly got the biggest job in English football off the back of that) at least fourteen of the Premier League clubs have been taken over by multi-billionaires. Off the top of my head anyway.

These days you need Moshiri/Usmanov money just to be mediocre.

They are not self sustaining, like City they are reliant on their owner propping them up, City with £240 million per season of commercial deals owned Shiekh Mansour, Chelsea have had £350 million cash injection to cover losses and wages during the Pandemic, it got so bad they actually struggled going forward to pay a coming months wages last season until Abramovich wired them a cash injection/loan.

When you owe your owner £1.5 billion in loans or half your turnover is companies sponsoring you owned by your owner, then you are not self reliant.

Also Swiss billionaire Hansjor Wyss has claimed last night in Switzerland that Abramovich offered to sell Chelsea to him and his partners yesterday, Wyss said the price is far to high, seems Abramovich wants over £2 billion for the club to cover the loans he's owed and to walk away with a profit.

“I and three other people received an offer on Tuesday to buy Chelsea from Abramovich.

“I have to wait four to five days now. Abramovich is currently asking far too much.

“You know, Chelsea owe him £2 billion. But Chelsea has no money.

“As of today, we don’t know the exact selling price.”

I could be wrong in my opinion:
USM Holdings have provided Everton some sponsorship in recent years, but we were incurring losses all those years anyways (and those are in the past)
Unless there was a planned huge windfall from USM Holdings to Everton, I am actually not too worried for Everton if Everton cut ties with USM (although unlikely). I don't think there will be lack of sponsors for Everton - as long as we survive the EPL! Everton as a brand can still be really strong.

Even if Moshiri have assets in Russia which are frozen, I'm sure he had stash monies all around the world (billionaires always do).

I'm not sure whether Usmanov have invested his personal money into Everton...but I know he is the one convincing Moshiri to hire Agent R.

But for Everton club as a whole, the focus should be to survive EPL. With all the money in the world could not help us if we relegate.

'kin hell. Puts the mad world of the EPL into focus when you realise Saints were sold for (equivilent) 120 million a few weeks ago. The fans down here were worried about the 90 million of loans which also needed to be paid to the chinese owner. Flipping chicken feed indeed.

While amusing to watch Chelski struggle if the worst happens, my concern is how much Everton may hurt if also into massive owner loan territory.

Our owner is Iranian.

Yes it is no secret now that Usmanov is involved, but I honestly believe that with Moshiri at the helm we are still financially sound as we were before.

All those predicting doom and gloom are just speculating and some are revelling in the uncertainty of the situation.
