My answer is no until proven otherwise. I'd be shocked if took over a club and improved it substantially.
Marsch did keep Leeds up last season (Just) tbf. Whether he can do it again is another matter, Saints fans seem mixed about him. His style is just a bit kamikaze for the PL imo, it might have worked in the Austrian league but so far in the German and English it hasn't really. There is scope for it to adapt but he needs to tone it down a lot. I don't see Lampard back in management anytime soon tbh, he needs to go back down the leagues and relearn the basics and Gerrard has been linked with both Saints and Leeds.I don't think he had the emotional intelligence or composure to manage a club at this level; he looked as if he was under a lot of stress from the outset.
I really would not be surprised if one of Marsch, Lampard or Gerrard end up at Leeds or Southampton, which will ultimately take one of them down.
That's the ideal scenario I agree, I'd be fairly confident of staying up if we can just avoid any serious injuries to players.Schreuder to Leeds would be fantastic news for us. Marsch to Southampton even better. Bring it on!
You're just not fully grasping how stacked the game is in some club's favor. Carlo won the CL with Madrid 12 months after being utterly clueless managing us. One thing is clearly harder and it isn't the one involving Real Madrid. So the bloke who won more CLs in three seasons in a row than almost every other manager in history managed in their entire career (whilst not spending that much by Madrid’s standards) isn’t a good manager?

Its about the fit, Carlo fits going to a club with a top 2 side, but for us he was terrible, if Zidane went to Leeds it would be totally the wrong place, i hope he doesYou're just not fully grasping how stacked the game is in some club's favor. Which is the biggest clooob?Hopefully both Leeds & Southampton don't now end up going for 'sensible' choices and take a punt instead. As much as we give him stick, I reckon Benitez would give at least one of them a very good chance of staying up.

I don't think he'd be a good manager when he's not managing the most talented side in the world. And I value winning leagues more as a measure of a manager because it requires a level of consistent excellence that a cup competition doesn't. I'll take Pep and Sir Alex over Jose and Zidane any day.At the top level of the CL they all have the same unlimited budgets and they all have squads of unbelievable players in every position.
Ancelotti has won 4 CLs in his entire career and is the only one to do so.
Paisley was next with 3 back in the European cup days when it was arguably easier to win.
No team had ever even defended the modern CL
Zidane then won three in a row. That’s more than Pep, Jose, SAF, Klopp, Tuchel, Wenger, Conte, Clough have won in their entire careers.
You simply cannot just write him off as some sort of lucky buffoon because if so then it’s a trick that no one else in the history of football has managed.
Yeah because we've done so much better than 10th since he left. Definitely held us back that Ancelotti fella10th and 12th.... leaving a disinterested squad, yes thats terrible considering what had gone on before him
He used the word terrible. Was his performance terrible? Was it worse than Lampard's or the Fat Waiter's?It's just absolutely wild to me that people still think Carlo did a good job here. I'd personally say he started the rot but the very very best you can say is he did nothing to stop what had already started. To think all was good until Benitez rolled up is incredibly naive.
