Yeah because we've done so much better than 10th since he left. Definitely held us back that Ancelotti fella
So 10th and 12th is good for us now? I see, just shows how far we have declined under Moshiri, next time I see someone saying Sam was bad ill remind them that 10th is acceptable for us so his 8th was above par

He started it. He signed bad players that were also past it which left holes in the squad. He started the culture of sitting deep and not bothering to have an attacking structure. All of the issues we're currently having started to show up under Carlo.

He used the word terrible. Was his performance terrible? Was it worse than Lampard's or the Fat Waiter's?
Is that the yard stick for whats good and bad Frank and Rafael? so anything better is good? Really? Koeman? Silva? Sam? Roberto finals seaons? all good ?

It was terrible because he took over a team that under Silva still performed reasonably well and had really just had a bit of a bad finishing stretch. And he took that platform and turned us into utter crap that just prayed to sneak games 1-0. He took a team with a real system, maybe slightly flawed but workable, and made it crap while adding crap to the squad. Then Benitez and Lampard, who are both bad, had to start from that bad starting point.

He was utterly woeful for us and did a ton of damage. He was never interested in developing a team and was an awful hire. Sent us out in basic structures and collected the check before booking at the first chance. He should be viewed with disdain by our support.

This is true, some of our fans sulked when Rafael called us a small club, but we consider Carlo to be have been a good manager when we came 12th and 10th under him, and he allowed players to lose interest in the club, thats the definition of a small club right there

Yes 12th or better would be excellent considering we came 16th and lost our best player and one of our better players and spent £0 in the last window.

One of the reasons we lost said player is because a manager spent big on Allan and Doucoure who aren't good enough to be considered our best player and also can't be sold for a bag of rice so we ran out of money.

Yeah now, but not then, it was pathetic, prior to Frank in the previous 15 years we had only been below 8th four times, twice under Carlo

Ben Godfrey was the most expensive under Carlo, and he is crap too, 3 players for a total of 67m.... wasted

You use the word terrible. As I asked earlier, did he do a terrible job? I am using the other two managers as a barometer - the form since then.

Did he ever, at any point, have us in the relegation zone like Silva did? Did he do a worse job than Koeman? My point is about the use of terrible.

It's fun because Silva had a great run at the end of a season and then a bad one at the start of the next so the table looked bad but because Carlo had his bad run in the same season as his good one it was fine.

You can say Silva was terrible too (I wouldn't) but it doesn't change Carlo.

Possibly yes. There were signings under Ancelotti that were poor signings and we spent too much money on average or injury prone players.

But the post I commented on said he was "terrible". He wasnt fantastic but he was not close to terrible either. We were in the European hunt until week 37 that season. The other managers in recent years under Moshiri have all had us around the bottom 3 at some point.

Yes he was terrible, terrible by what had been our standards and ambitions before he turned up, Everton fans bought into him because of what he had done for other clubs, I care about what he did for us, in fact even by his own standards it was terrible, i could be wrong but i dont think he had ever come lower the 6th in any previous job he had done.
And has pointed out above, his incoming players, all rubbish, and there no chance Carlo Ancelotti didnt have the final say on all of them

No he was terrible, look at some of the teams who wacked us at home, including teams who got relegated, Fulham played us off the park at Goodison, Burnley, also Sheffield United.
Being in the European hunt means nothing if you tail away towards the end, the fact he allowed this to happen after he had most likely decided to bail is a poor reflection to how un-interested in us he was

The problem is the arrow was pointing down when he took over and when he left it was pointed further down. That for me is terrible work.
